The secondary will be of primary concern for the New York Giants as they prepare to face the Washington Commanders in a Week 15 SNF game with huge NFL playoff implications.
Washington and New York, both 7-5-1, are holding down the #6 and #7 seeds in the NFC postseason picture, so a win here could go a long way toward securing playoff action for one of these teams.
To do so, the Giants will need to overcome their beat up group of defensive backs. Starting LCB Adoree’ Jackson is out with a knee injury. He’s among two secondary players listed as out, with a third being given an injury designation of questionable.
Along the respective defensive fronts, Giants LDE Leonard Williams (neck) and Commanders RDE Chase Young (knee) are both listed as questionable.
The Commanders, who are 6-1-1 both straight up and against the spread in their last eight games, are 4.5-point home favorites in the NFL odds. The Giants are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games..
Kickoff at FedEx Field is set for 8:20 pm ET on Sunday, December 15. In the Giants vs Commanders picks, these two teams tied 20-20 two weeks ago at MetLife Stadium.

The people are going against the oddsmakers and backing the underdog Giants in spread wagering in the Giants vs Commanders public betting splits. Washington was the 3.5-point home chalk in the Week 15 NFL opening odds.
New York Giants Injury Report
Williams missed last week’s 48-22 pounding handed the Giants by the NFC East-leading Philadelphia Eagles. Henry Mondeaux, who started in his place, finished with two tackles and no quarterback hits.
Making Jackson’s absence for a fourth successive game even more problematic is that his backup Nick McCloud is showing on the Giants’ injury report as questionable due to an illness. Backup safety Xavier McKinney (hand) is also out.
On offense, second-string guards Joshua Ezeudu (neck) and Shane Lemieux (toe) are out. Starting tight end Daniel Bellinger (ribs) is questionable.
Washington Commanders Injury Report
With Tyler Larsen (dislocated kneecap) out for season, Wes Schweitzer, recently activated from IR, will be moving in as the new starting center. Washington was 6-1 with Larsen as the #1 center on the depth chart.
Starting RCBÂ Benjamin St-Juste (ankle) is listed as questionable. Reserve defensive end Efe Obada (finger) and wide receiver Cam Sims (back) are also questionable.
Backup guard Saahdiq Charles suffered a concussion during practice this week and is out for Sunday’s game.
How Could Injuries Affect Giants vs Commanders Lines?
There was hope that Young would be making his season debut in this game. However, that seems unlikely now. Young stated this week that when he’s ready, he”ll be playing.

Washington is hopeful of getting St-Juste back in the lineup. Playing opposite LCB Kendall Fuller, they were performing solidly as a tandem.
If you’re thinking of a play on either of Washington’s running backs Brian Robinson or Antonio Gibson in the Giants vs Commanders player props, go right ahead. Their respective limitations in practice this week were due merely to load management.
In his nine starts this season, Williams has delivered 10 quarterback hits, three tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. Jackson is also an impact player for the New York defense. in his 10 starts he’s collected one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and two tackles for loss while defending seven passes.
Brian Daboll’s Giants looking for some London vibes with these tunes. Leonard Williams, Landon Collins, Jihad Ward, Nick McCloud all look prepared to play on defense. Richie James as return/slot, too. Think Ben Bredeson factors on OL, as well. Will see. pic.twitter.com/z92Tg9NDL9

Giants backup edge Jihad Ward and wide receiver/kick returner Richie James both were cleared from concussion protocol and saw removal of their injury designations. With Wan’Dale Robinson and Sterling Shepard on IR, James has been starting at WR. He’s also the go-to kick return man in the absence of Jackson.
As well, all of the players listed as questionable on the club’s injury report were trending toward playing as New York’s practice week was concluding.
