  • The Week 14 NFL line movement includes the largest spread of the 2022 NFL season, with the Dallas Cowboys a 17.5-point home favorite over the Houston Texans
  • The Ohio showdown between the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns is featuring the largest spread movement of Week 14
  • There’s two games on the Week 14 slate with totals under 40 points

They say that things are bigger in Texas and the Week 14 NFL line movement is giving proof to that theory. The Dallas Cowboys are 17.5-point home favorites over the Houston Texans in a showdown of the league’s two Texas-based clubs. In the NFL odds,  that’s the largest point spread of the 2022 NFL season.

The line on the Houston vs Dallas game has lengthened by two points, also giving the Texans and Cowboys a share of the biggest spread movement of Week 14 of the NFL season.

Two games are showing line movement in the total of three points. One of them is the Ohio rivalry between AFC North rivals the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals. The over/under in that contest has shortened from 49.5 to 46.5 points.

Prior to going into analysis of this week’s line movement, let’s look at the up-to-the-minute Week 14 NFL odds.

In Week 14 against the spread picks, the New York Jets are +10 at the Buffalo Bills, giving the week two games with double digit spreads. On the weekend slate, home teams are favored in eight of 12 games. For the second time in as many weeks, there are two games showing totals above 50 points.

NFL Week 14 Biggest Line Movement

Across NFL betting sites, twos are wild when it comes to the biggest line movement. Two games are sharing the mark for the most massive move in the point spread. And that movement in each case was exactly two points.

Speaking of twos, for the second week in a row, the Seattle Seahawks are part of the biggest line movement. Seattle’s game with the Carolina Panthers saw the line shorten from Seattle -5.5 to Seahawks -3.5.

Seattle is 0-3 ATS in the past three games, but 4-2 ATS in the last six home games. Carolina is 5-1 ATS over the club’s last six games.

The Seahawks and Panthers are sharing this mark with the Houston vs Dallas game. The Cowboys are 8-3 ATS over their last 11 games. Houston is 1-6 ATS in the past seven contests.

Biggest Total Movement In Week 14 NFL Lines

The Bengals are 9-1 ATS in the past 10 games. The last 10 Cleveland vs Cincinnati games are also 7-1-2 on the total, so seeing this line shortening from 49.5 to 46.5 points seems odds in that respect. The last six Cleveland at Cincinnati games have all gone over.

It likely has to do with the fact that even though Cleveland beat Houston 27-14 last week in the return of QB Deshaun Watson from NFL suspension, the Browns did so without scoring an offensive touchdown. As well, both the Browns and Bengals are 0-2 on the total in their past two games.

The San Francisco 49ers vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers game is also displaying a three-point decline in the total from 40.5 points to 37.5. Due to injuries to Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance, the 49ers are down to third-string QB Brock Purdy.

Patriots Used To Short Odds

When it comes to point spreads, the New England Patriots are accustomed to close shaves. They are they 1.5-point road chalk facing the Arizona Cardinals in the Week 14 MNF game, the shortest Week 14 spread. It’s the seventh time in 10 games that the spread on a New England game is four points or less.

New England is proving capable of making close count. The Patriots are 6-3 ATS in their last nine games. As well, New England is 7-1 ATS in the last eight games when facing the Cardinals.

Cowboys Biggest Favorites For Second Straight Week

Dallas is the opposite of New England. The Cowboys are used to giving big. This is the third successive week that Dallas is a double-digit favorite.

Last week, the Cowboys whipped the Indianapolis Colts 54-19 as the 10.5-point chalk. One week prior, as a 10-point favorite against the New York Giants, Dallas failed to cover in a 28-20 victory.

It’s the fourth time this season that Houston is a double-digit underdog. So far in that scenario, the Texans are 2-1 ATS. The 17.5-point line is the largest spread on an NFL game since Week 7 of last season. That game also involved the Texans, who failed to cover as 20-point underdogs in a 31-5 loss to the Cardinals.

In the NFL public betting trends, 68% of handle and 50% of bets are going with Dallas to cover this large line.

Ravens And Steelers Are Under Writers

There’s plenty of talk about seven of nine in regards to the Pittsburgh Steelers vs Baltimore Ravens AFC rivalry, but it has nothing to do with Star Trek actor Jeri Ryan. It has much more to do with a QB clash between Baltimore backup Tyler Huntley and Steelers rookie Kenny Pickett.

The 36.5-point total on the Ravens at Steelers is the lowest over/under for Week 14. Baltimore has gone under in seven of the last nine games. Pittsburgh has gone under in seven of the last nine home games.

Tua The Total Package For Dolphins

Assigning a Week 14-high total of 52.5 points to this game, oddsmakers are counting on the impact of Miami QB Tua Tagovailoa more than they are taking into account the recent history between the Dolphins and the Chargers.

The total has gone over in four of Miami’s last five games. At least one team has tallied 30+ points in each of the club’s last five games.

On the other hand, eight of the last nine Dolphins vs Chargers games have gone under. LA is 1-3-1 on the total over the past five games.
