  • The Philadelphia Eagles are 3-point away favorites over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their NFL Wild Card Weekend playoff game on Monday, January 15
  • Philadelphia won 25-11 at Tampa Bay this season in Week 3
  • At 11-6, the Buccaneers are tied for the second-best ATS record in the NFL this season

When it comes to beating the Tampa Buccaneers (9-8, 11-6 ATS), the Philadelphia Eagles (11-6, 7-8-2 ATS) have been there and done that this season. Philly was a 25-11 winner at Tampa Bay in Week 3

When it comes to covering the spread, the Buccaneers are experts in this field. In the NFL this season, only the Detroit Lions (12-5) show a better against the spread record than Tampa Bay.

So which trend should you be rolling with as these two clubs meet on Wild Card Weekend? Well, oddsmakers are opting for Philadelphia as 3-point away favorites in the Eagles vs Buccaneers odds. Philly covered as the 6-point road chalk in that Week 3 victory.

Philadelphia vs Tampa Bay Betting Trends

In the NFL public betting splits, the people are with the favored Eagles to win and the underdog Buccaneers to cover. Philadelphia is getting 77% of the money and 65% of the bets on the moneyline, while Tampa is getting 59% of the money and 56% of the bets when it comes to spread betting as of Monday afternoon.

The Eagles are 1-5 straight up and 0-6 ATS in the past six games.

Tampa Bay has not been an effective home ATS team this season, going 3-5. Overall, the Buccaneers are 5-1 SU in the last six games and 4-1 ATS over the past five games.

A dozen of Tampa Bay’s last 18 games have gone under. The under also hit in seven of Philadelphia’s last eight road games. And that is how the public bets have been seeing this game as well with 61% of the money and 65% of the bets backing the under.

Philadelphia is the +1200 fifth betting choice in the Super Bowl odds. The Buccaneers are +7500 to win the Super Bowl.

Brown Out for Eagles

There will be a key offensive weapon absent for Philadelphia as the Eagles face the Buccaneers. WR AJ Brown is out due to a knee injury. Brown suffered the injury in Philadelphia’s Week 18 loss to the New York Giants. He hasn’t been able to practice at all this week.

Philly’s top receiver, Brown is averaging 85.6 yards per game in receptions on 106 catches for 1456 yards. He’s gone over 100 yards in seven games this season while catching seven TD passes.

WR DeVonta Smith, second to Brown in all receiving categories, had been questionable with an ankle injury but looks good to go and could be worth a play in the Eagles vs Buccaneers props. Smith has caught seven TD passes this season and went for 1,066 yards on 81 receptions.

Starting CB Darius Slay (knee) is another key player for the Eagles who won’t be playing.

Buccaneers Mayfield a Game-Day Decision

There is concern that Tampa Bay will be going into this game minus QB1 Baker Mayfield. He’s dealing with ankle and rib injuries. Mayfield didn’t practice on Thursday and was limited in his participation on both Friday and Saturday.

He’s listed in the Buccaneers injury report as questionable. Though expectations are he will play, an official decision will be made on whether Mayfield suits up and starts the game on Monday 90 minutes prior to opening kickoff.

If Mayfield can’t go, Kyle Trask would step in as the starter for Tampa Bay. He’s attempted one pass all season and just 10 during his NFL career.

Eagles vs Buccaneers Prediction

Since opening the NFL season 10-1, the Eagles have gone into free fall. That it coincides with Matt Patricia taking over as the club’s defensive play caller is no mere coincidence.

Patricia, though, is just another symptom of the many problems ailing the defending NFC champions. For instance, QB1 Jalen Hurts has thrown more TD passes than interceptions in just one of his last five games.

Eagles vs Buccaneers pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers +3 (-110)
