Two teams sitting as top-5 favorites in the 2023 Super Bowl odds clash on Monday Night Football.

The Buffalo Bills (12-3, 6-2 away), the top seed in the AFC, have been tabbed as 1-point road favorites against the Cincinnati Bengals (11-4, 5-1 home), with a total set at 49.5.

You’ve got two teams streaking, as the Bengals will be looking for their 8th-straight win, while Buffalo will look to extend its win streak to seven.

This one will also feature the two of the top candidates in the 2023 NFL MVP odds — Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Bengals’ pivot Joe Burrow.

Buffalo is trying to hold off both Cincinnati and the Kansas City Chiefs for the top seed in the AFC, and the lone first-round bye that comes with it. They’re the top-3 teams at the top of the 2023 Conference Championship odds, and one will be left out.

Bills vs Bengals ATS Betting Splits

This line started as high as Bills -2.5 at some sportsbooks, and moved to a pick’em, before settling in at the current 1-point spread.

The NFL public betting trends for this matchup show a near split down the middle, showing just how good both teams are. Just 51% of the public are laying their bets on Buffalo to cover.

Despite their conference-best record, the Bills have not been a great bet, running a 7-7-1 mark ATS on the season. That being said, only eight teams in the NFL have better than a 50% success rate.

One of those teams? Cincinnati, who enter Monday with sparkling 12-3-0 mark ATS. That 80% success rate is the best in the NFL, with only the New York Giants with as many wins. They’re also 5-1 ATS at home, which is tops in the league. They’re the only team with a single loss.

The Bills are 4-3-1 ATS on the road, though, one of 14 teams with a winning road mark against the spread.

Buffalo vs Cincinnati Total Betting Splits

This scoring line has stayed remarkably consistent at 49.5, with only a few books dipping to 49, and a handful of others lifting it to 50.

The public sees that as an opportunity, with a whopping 82% of the betting on the over.

Buffalo is the fourth-highest scoring team in the NFL, putting up 28 points per game, while Cincinnati puts up 26.1 a contest, good for sixth. Even nearing their season averages would be an easy over. It’s also a good reason to target these skill position players in the Bills vs Bengals props.

If there is a caution, it’s the defense. Buffalo allows the 2nd-fewest points per game, at 17.5. Cincinnati is not that far back in seventh, surrendering 20.4 points per game.

That’s not to say they haven’t had their moments. The Bills have leaked against strong offenses during their win streak, letting the Dolphins score 29, and the Lions to put up 25.

The Bengals have let Pittsburgh pack 30 on them, and while they held KC to 24, they’ve allowed low-powered offenses like Tampa Bay and New England to post above their season averages.
