Raiders vs Lions SGP Picks: Lions Moneyline

This should be a big bounce-back spot for the Lions on Monday Night Football after a horrible loss to the Ravens last week. Dan Campbell has generally been money coaching the Lions, being 28-13 ATS and covering in 14 of his past 17 games.

But we don’t need to worry about him covering in the Raiders vs Lions odds and improving those NFL ATS records, we simply need a SU win for our MNF SGP picks.

The Lions score the eighth-most points per game averaging 24.9 PPG, while the Raiders are one of the lowest scoring teams averaging 16 PPG to rank 30th. Even with Jimmy G back from injury, I don’t think they have enough to go on the road in Detroit on MNF and get the win.

Raiders vs Lions SGP Picks: Davante Adams Receptions

The Riaders’ top offensive weapon is clearly Davatne Adams. And if they want any chance of pulling the upset tonight in Detroit they’ll need to use him. It would be the strategy that makes the most sense as well. The Lions are 2nd in rushing yards allowed per game, but only 23rd in passing yards allowed per game.

Adams was 7/12 in receptions/targets last week for 57 yards in the Raiders’ 30-12 loss to the Bears with Brian Hoyer and Aidan O’Connell at quarterback.

Now the previous two games Adams only had two and four catches even with Jimmy G playing, but overall on the season, Adams has finished with six or more catches in 5/7 games.

Raiders vs Lions SGP Picks: Jahmyr Gibbs Receptions

Jaymyr Gibbs had nine receptions last week on ten targets for 58 yards. When you add in his 68 rushing yards, he combined for 126 yards and could be a good bet in the Raiders vs Lions props as a single bet there.

But for our MNF SGP picks, we can simply target his receptions. He’s had nine and four catches in his past two games and has finished with four or more in 3/5 games.

David Montgomery is out, so Gibbs should see the bulk of the rushes. But Amon-Ra St Brown is also questionable with an illness in the Raiders vs Lions injury reports. If he misses out or is limited that should mean more passes to go around to the likes of Gibbs, Sam LaPorta and others. No matter how you cut in, Gibbs should be heavily involved in the gameplan tonight.

And the Raiders have given up 36 receptions to running backs this season (5.14 average), which would easily surpass the 3+ receptions we’re asking for in our MNF SGP picks here.

Raiders vs Lions SGP Picks: Sam LaPorta Receptions

The Raiders don’t have a bad pass defense, they actually rank 7th in passing yards allowed per game. And they aren’t bad defending TEs either only giving up 290 yards to the position. But they’ve still allowed 34 receptions to opposing TEs in seven games which comes out to 4.86 catches per game.

That’s about the same average of catches (5) that Sam LaPorta has been pulling down for the Lions with 35 receptions in seven games. He’s finished with 3+ receptions in all seven games and 4+ receptions in 5/7.
