  • Rihanna is set to play at halftime for Super Bowl LVII in the Chiefs vs Eagles contest
  • What might be the songs that the megastar will perform?
  • Will there be any surprise cameos for the big game?

In two weeks’ time, the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will be competing in Super Bowl LVII to see who lifts the coveted Lombardi Trophy. It’ll be a reunion of sorts, as Andy Reid’s new team (Chiefs), will face his old squad (Eagles). At halftime, the NFL secured a coveted superstar for a dazzling performance, as Rihanna will be the headliner in Glendale, Arizona on February 12th.

It will be her first live performance in over five years. It’s also the end of her self-imposed boycott of the Super Bowl that saw her refuse to play in 2020 in solidarity following Colin Kaepernick’s controversy for kneeling during the anthem.

Which of her songs will she be most likely to play, and who potentially will serve as a surprise cameo? There will be no shortage of possibilities to add to the Super Bowl Halftime Show history books.

Songs That Rihanna Could Sing at the Halftime Show

The song that put Rihanna on the map way back in 2005 was ‘Pon De Replay’ and it would stand to reason that she will break back out the classic that was her launching pad to success. Another club fixture is ‘Don’t Stop The Music’ which she made in 2007. That was part of 2016 MTV VMA performances where she included other big hits like ‘Where Have You Been’, ‘We Found Love’ ‘Only Girl In The World’ and more.

Fans of Rihanna are frothing at the mouth for this performance, considering she hasn’t put out an album since ‘Anti’ in 2016. The song that really thrust her into the consciousness was ‘Umbrella’ in 2007, which is another banger that she could perform – the possibilities are endless, with her having so many chart topping songs.

Who Might Be Surprise Cameos at the Super Bowl Halftime Show?

There are no shortage of options for potential cameos, and that has fans excited to see who might be surprise collaborators that Rihanna will have with her on the stage. Possible names include Jay-Z, along with his company Roc Nation, who signed her when she was just 16 years old. He could join her for the iconic ‘Umbrella’ song. Other possibilities are her boyfriend ASAP Rocky, and perhaps Eminem for a second straight year.

Britney Spears making an appearance would be legendary, and she’s someone the masses want at the event. Another option is Drake, who worked with her on ‘What’s My Name’ in 2010. Shakira, who performed with Jennifer Lopez in 2020 at the Super Bowl, would also provide a thrilling option.

Of course, there’s another less-than-exciting possibility, which is that Rihanna decides to just do the halftime show solo. That feels like a wasted opportunity, however, to really make the performance memorable and iconic. One thing is for certain, with Chris Stapleton singing the national anthem prior to Super Bowl LVII, it’ll be an unforgettable night and show for the ages on February 12th.
