The Super Bowl 57 matchup is officially set, as the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will battle for the NFL Championship on Sunday, February 12th. Money has begun pouring in on the top sporting event of the year.

Oddsmakers have instilled the Eagles as 2-point favorites over the Chiefs for the big game at State Farm Stadium in Arizona. One of the biggest Super Bowl 57 bets supports the notion that the Eagles should be the favorite.

On this page, we’ll track the biggest Super Bowl bets for 2023 and whether these wagers made any impact on the betting line.

Biggest Super Bowl Bets 2023

Bet Type of Bet Sportsbook Amount Wagered Potential Profit
Eagles -125 Moneyline BetMGM Sportsbook $1,000,000 $800,000
Chiefs +110 Moneyline Stake $700,000 $770,000
Eagles -2 (-110) Spread Caesars Sportsbook $131,584.75 $119,622.50
Over 49.5 Points (-110) Total Caesars Sportsbook  $110,000 $100,000

Table as of Feb. 10. It will be updated with the biggest Super Bowl bets made on Kansas City vs Philadelphia.

The potential profit doesn’t include the initial amount wagered, which would also be returned to the bettor.

$1 Million Bet on Eagles Moneyline

The biggest bet on Super Bowl 57 to date was reported by BetMGM Sportsbook on February 5th, 2023. The online sportsbook reports that a bettor placed a one million dollar wager on the Eagles moneyline at odds of -125. A successful wager would net a profit of $800,000.

This large Super Bowl bet is supported by the fact the betting favorite is 37-18 all-time on the moneyline in Super Bowls. BetMGM opened their Super Bowl odds with the Eagles at -130 on the moneyline. Those odds eventually lengthened to -135 before shortening to -125. BetMGM hasn’t adjusted the moneyline further as a result of this bet.

It may seem perilous to place a $1M wager on a team facing NFL MVP favorite Patrick Mahomes, but it’s important to remember the Kansas City star quarterback is dealing with an ankle sprain that is expected to limit his mobility.

$131K Wager on Eagles to Cover

One of the first massive bets placed on the Super Bowl came at Caesars Sportsbook. The Nevada-based sportsbook reports that a bettor in DC placed a $131,584.75 wager on the Eagles to cover the 2-point spread. If the bet cashes, the profit would be $119,622.50.

Not only did Caesars report this one large Super Bowl bet, but they also provided data showing where all the big early money is going at their sportsbook. According to Caesars, there have been 24 spread or moneyline bets of at least $10,000 placed at their sportsbook. 21 of those bets were placed on the Eagles.

Caesars opened the Chiefs vs Eagles Super Bowl game as a pick’em but all this heavy money on Philadelphia has caused them to shift the line toward the Eagles. They did report they took some early action on the Chiefs as a pick, but the real money has come in on the Eagles, causing them to react accordingly.

$110K Bet on Chiefs vs Eagles Over 49.5

One of the other biggest Super Bowl bets was also made at Caesars Sportsbook — this time on the game total. The Las Vegas sportsbook reports that a Nevada bettor placed a $110,000 wager on Chiefs vs Eagles to go over 49.5 points. The potential win would net a profit of $100,000.

Interestingly enough, Caeasrs reports they are confident in their number for the total and didn’t increase it based on this bet. Although this bet didn’t move the needle for them, Ceasrs did say they anticipate receiving much more handle that could eventually impact their total.

With Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts squaring off, many football fans might be expecting a shootout between two prolific quarterbacks. It’s worth noting, however, that the under has hit in three straight Super Bowls and in seven straight NFL postseason contests.
