Steelers vs Ravens Will Have Worst Weather Conditions on Wild Card Weekend

While it’s going to be cold in Buffalo and Philadelphia, the worst conditions this weekend figure to be in Baltimore for the third meeting of the season between the Steelers and Ravens on Saturday night (8 pm ET kickoff). Not only will temperatures be at or near freezing, there is also a 60% chance of rain/snow and the strongest winds of the weekend (up to 21 mph gusts).

This always figured to be a fairly run-heavy game, regardless, and that’s even more true looking at the forecast.

The Steelers/Ravens game total has already moved down 3.5 points since opening at 46.5. On Tuesday afternoon, BetMGM had the over/under at 43 flat.

The first meeting between the teams was an 18-16 defensive slugfest in Pittsburgh. The second was considerably higher-scoring, with the Ravens running away with a 34-17 victory in Baltimore on Dec. 21. The Ravens put up 418 total yards of offense, and only needed 207 passing yards from Lamar Jackson to get there. Baltimore rushed for 198 as a team, led by 162 from Derrick Henry.

Orchard Park Will Be Below Freezing for Broncos/Bills

The coldest temperatures of the weekend will be, to no one’s surprise, at Orchard Park in Buffalo for the Broncos/Bills game in the early Sunday window (1 pm ET kickoff). But the cold should be the only impediment to the offenses. There is only a 30% chance of precipitation, and if it does snow, it should be very minimal.

The wind is also expected to be basically nonexistent. The forecast is calling for 5-6 mph winds with gusts up to 14 mph, nothing that ought to hamper the passing games.

The odds movement for Wild Card weekend supports that assumption; the Broncos/Bills game total has actually increased half a point since opening at 46.5 last Sunday night. It’s the only total that’s gone up in the six Wild Card games.

Conditions at the Linc Looking Relatively Mild for Packers/Eagles

It’s going to be fairly cold in Philadelphia for Packers vs Eagles, but the temperature is forecast to be a touch above freezing (about 34° at kickoff) and there GB/PHI is the only game with a 0% chance of precipitation. On top of that, it also has the mildest wind conditions among the four outdoor games this weekend (just 5 mph with gusts up to 10 mph).

The Packers/Eagles game total has already come down from 47.5 to 45.5, but that won’t have anything to do with the forecast.

These teams combined for 64 points when they met in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in Week 1, a game that ended in a 34-29 Philadelphia victory.
