All odds as of Apr. 14
Flyers And Penguins Will Light Lamp
The Flyers and Penguins could cash the “over” for a seventh straight meeting when the two rivals clash in another Battle of Pennsylvania on Thursday. The offensive firepower on both rosters has led to at least seven total goals being scored in six straight matchups dating back to January 2020.
Pittsburgh appears to be a lock to make the playoffs with 56 points through 42 games, while the Flyers are falling out of the race with 44 points in the same amount of contests. The Penguins will be hungry to deliver another devastating blow to those chances, while the Flyers should be fired up and desperate to garner two points against their in-state rivals.

The Pens’ offense and dominance at PPG Paints Arena is reason to bet on the “over” trend continuing Thursday. Sidney Crosby’s team has scored at least five goals in four of their past five outings and own a 16-3-1 record in their home building. They should have another big outing against Carter Hart or Brian Elliott, who both own a save percentage below .900.
The Pens’ offense has been electric, but the defense still needs work. They got torched for seven and eight goals by the Bruins and Rangers respectively recently and have struggled to shutdown this Philly offense. The Flyers rank 14th in NHL goal-scoring and will do enough against this susceptible defense to cash the “over”.
Pick: Flyers vs Penguins Over 6.0 (-121)
Jackets Will Take Advantage of Injured Stars
It’s a battle of two of the worst teams in the Central Division when the Stars and Blue Jackets clash at American Airlines Center on Thursday. Dallas sits sixth in the division with 42 points in 41 games, while the Jackets rank seventh with 39 points through 44 contests.
Dallas has been decimated by injuries and COVID this season, which is forcing them to play a very compressed schedule with an inexperienced roster. The team is ready without top scorer Tyler Seguin and got word Wednesday that Ben Bishop and Alexander Radulov will miss the rest of the season. Roope Hintz and Joel Kirvanta are also currently injured.

The Blue Jackets have lost three straight games, but they have a great chance to break that slump against a Dallas team that is also struggling. The Stars have only managed two wins in their last six games and have recorded just four victories in their last 14 games at American Airlines Center.
Columbus has good underdog value in the NHL odds on April 15th, with Patrik Laine heating up and coming off a two-goal game that included a highlight-reel tally. John Tortorella’s team seems to play some of its best hockey against Dallas, as they own an 11-3 record in the last 14 meetings. Bet on Laine to stay hot and CBJ to take advantage of an injury-riddled Stars team.
Pick: Blue Jackets Moneyline (+165)
