  • Utah (28-25-8) hosts Anaheim (28-29-7) tonight at the Delta Center with both teams making a playoff push for a wild card spot in the Western Conference.
  • The Utah Hockey Club, nickname still being determined, is 1.5-goal favorites at home.
  • I’ve got some insights on the best prop bets, a prediction and a game preview for Wednesday night hockey between Utah and the Ducks.

The Utah Hockey Club (28-25-8; 44-20 ATS) hosts the Anaheim Ducks (28-25-8; 39-35 ATS) Wednesday night for a 10 p.m. ET puck drop with each team still in the wild card chase with just under 20 games to go.

Anaheim has been the best bet in the NHL this season against the spread and enters as 1.5-goal underdogs.

We’re locked in on the best prop bets, and prediction for Wednesday night’s clash of the Ducks and Utah.

Ducks vs Utah Odds

This will be the third meeting of the season between these two clubs. The Ducks won both meetings 5-4, once in a shootout and once in overtime.

I’ve found the best team in the NHL to bet on against the spread, it’s Anaheim, who is 44-20 this season against the spread, far and away the best record in the NHL. Hey, sometimes the sportsbooks can’t figure a team out.

The Ducks are 4-5-1 in their last 10 games against the spread. They’re an awful 22-37-5 over/under.

Utah is four games over .500 against the spread. They’re 5-3-1-1 in their last 10 games on the number. They’re also an awful 25-34 over/under.

The Utah Hockey Club is 1.5-goal favorites at home. The total is 5.5 at FanDuel and DraftKings and six everywhere else. I found the best moneyline bet on Anaheim is +228 at Caesars and -265 at DraftKings for Utah.

I just can’t go against Anaheim against the spread this season. 44 wins against the spread at this point is ridiculous, so I will take the goal and a half, even on the road.

Utah is only three points behind Calgary for the last wild card in the West, Anaheim is seven points back.  The Ducks big issue has been a horrible offense that ranks 30 th in the NHL in goals scored. Ducks goalie Lukas Dostal gave up six goals Tuesday, but has actually played well.

Utah is a nice story this season. Clayton Keller has 12 points in his last seven games, and some of the young Utah players are figuring things out. Both prior meetings hit the over, and five of Anaheim’s last seven games went over. I’m seeing a high scoring game tonight.

Ducks vs Utah Prop Bets

I found some great prop bets to consider for Ducks vs Utah Wednesday night.

Any time goal scorer: Clayton Keller, Utah (+150 at FanDuel)

Keller has become the Club’s best offensive threat already with a career high 50 assists to go along with 23 goals. He gets plenty of ice time and had a big game a week ago when he tallied five points against the Wild.

Also, in the first meeting with Anaheim this season he scored, and in the second meeting in December he had two goals and two assists. Keller is a great bet at this number.

Any time goal scorer: Frank Vatrano, Ducks (+280 at FanDuel)

Frank the Tank has bounced around in his NHL career. He’s put up 20 goals and 20 assists this season and played real well the last time out with a goal and an assist in the Ducks loss to Washington.

But here’s the real thing, Frank’s birthday is Friday. He will be 31. Every hockey player seems to get a goal on his birthday.

Will there be Overtime? (+380 Yes, -600 No)

Yes, I know this is a prop bet for every game, but just know this…Utah is tied for the most OT games in the NHL this season with Pittsburgh with 19. And Anaheim has played 15 games that have gone to the extra session. Smells like a yes to me.
