It’s Game 2 between the Los Angeles Kings and Colorado Avalanche, with the Avs up 1-0 in this Western Conference series. Puck drop is scheduled for 10:00 PM ET at Ball Arena on April 21, 2026.
The Kings are in desperate need of a victory because they’ll be in deep trouble against a loaded Avalanche team. Game 1 was a tight checking game with Colorado claiming a 2-1 victory, and Logan O’Connor secured the game-winning goal. The LA Kings are road underdogs in this tilt and will need some more firepower if they want to compete with the Avalanche.
Finding value in the NHL betting markets often comes from breaking down the numbers. In this breakdown, we will read the lines, deliver our top predictions, and props for this playoff duel.
LAK vs COL Game Odds
The latest NHL odds have the Avalanche as pretty big home favorites as they look to take a 2-0 series lead against the Kings.
- Moneyline: Kings ML (+240 at DraftKings) | Avalanche ML (-298 at DraftKings)
- Puck Line: Kings +1.5 (-110 at BetMGM) | Avalanche -1.5 (-110 at BetMGM)
- Total: Over 5.5 (-115 at bet365) | Under 5.5 (-105 at bet365)
Odds as of April 21st, at 3:00 pm ET from DraftKings, BetMGM, and bet365
The Kings don’t want this to be a high-scoring game/series, so the Under 5.5 in this contest could be a good play if Game 2 is in any way like the opening game of the series. The oddsmakers do think that the Avalanche will cruise to a win in front of their home crowd.

Kings vs Avalanche Picks and Predictions
- Puck Line Pick: Los Angeles Kings +1.5 (-110 at BetMGM)
The Los Angeles Kings will be in full-on desperation mode as they try to even this series against the Avalanche. This will be a tough, physical, and hard-fought game, which is exactly what kind of game the Kings will want to play. The Kings won five of their last seven games heading into the postseason. Two of their last three defeats have been by one goal.
They’ll need to rely on goalie Anton Forsberg, who put up a 2.57 goals against average during the regular season with a .910 save percentage. He also collected three shutouts during the regular season. Los Angeles was able to break the Avs’ shutout hopes late in the third period of Game 1, so they’ll be looking to carry that momentum into Game 2 of this first-round series.
- Player Prop Pick: Nathan MacKinnon anytime goal (-113 at Caesars)
Nathan MacKinnon is dangerous anytime he’s on the ice and is nightmare fuel for any team playing against him. MacKinnon had one assist in Game 1, but he’ll be looking to light the lamp and ignite the home crowd. The Olympic silver medalist sniped 51 goals this season and 13 career goals against the Kings.
MacKinnon is on the No.1 powerplay unit, so it gives him ample opportunity to score a goal tonight in Game 2. He has potted 13 goals with the man advantage while dishing out 19 assists on the PP. He isn’t afraid to fire the puck on net, as he has recorded at least three shots on goal in five of his last six games
Odds as of April 21st, at 3:17 pm ET from BetMGM, and Caesears
