Los Angeles Kings Betting Analysis

The Los Angeles Kings had a very solid season, amassing 104 points, which was tenth best in the NHL. However, in their latest stretch, they’ve been a very Jekyll and Hyde team. Starting March 28th, they lost two straight, then won two in a row, then dropped three straight, then finished with two victories. In their last five games against playoff teams, however, LA has lost on four occasions, two of which were against the Oilers.

For the season, LA was tenth in goals/game, but they were smack dab in the middle (16th) in goals allowed per outing. Their special teams were also Jekyll and Hyde, ranking fourth on the PP, but 24th on the PK. The goaltending was stabilized with the acquisition of Joonas Korpisalo before the trade deadline. He’s posted a 2.13 GAA and .921 save percentage.

Los Angeles has failed to win in five of their last six outings as an underdog. The under has hit in their last six following a game in which they tallied five or more goals.

Edmonton Oilers Betting Analysis

The Edmonton Oilers have been on a ridiculous heater, racking up points in 15 straight (14-0-1). They were 18-2-1 since March (tops in the NHL in that span). In seven of their last eight victories, they’ve won by two or more goals.

Rookie Stuart Skinner has stabilized the Oilers’ crease after spelling Jack Campbell. He’s surrendered just five goals in his last five games. It’s hardly a surprise to note that Connor McDavid simply cannot be stopped, as he has 29 points on a 16-game point streak. In all but seven of his 82 contests, McDavid has registered at least one point, easily taking the scoring title by a wide margin (153 points, 25 more than second-place finisher and teammate Leon Draisaitl).

Edmonton has won their last eight games following a contest that they scored five or more. They’re also 6-0-1 in their last seven against playoff combatants.
