Two of the NHL’s hottest starts meet Tuesday night in Las Vegas, as the Tampa Bay Lightning (6-2-0) visit the Vegas Golden Knights (8-2-0). Vegas has won five of six games at home, while the Bolts have dropped two of three on the road.

Nikita Kucherov scored twice in a 4-2 win over Vancouver last time out for TB, and Jake Guentzel chipped in a goal and an assist, as they find themselves second in the Atlantic Division.

My Lightning vs Golden Knights prediction is a Vegas Yes contract at 52¢, which works out to a 52% implied chance. Home ice and Tampa Bay’s uneven road start make Vegas my preferred side at nearly an even-money price.

Tampa Bay’s split matters more to me. The Bolts are 5-0 at home but just 1-2 on the road, and a late start is a tough ask for any visitor. Vegas also gets last change, so the Knights pick the matchups they want all night.

That edge is a big deal with Jack Eichel, Mark Stone and Mitch Marner leading the way. Home ice lets Vegas get those three away from Tampa Bay’s best checkers more often. Over 60 minutes, that should tilt more shifts in the Knights’ favor.

Still, I’d keep the position size modest. Nikita Kucherov and Jake Guentzel are both producing, and the top of this Tampa Bay lineup can flip a game in a few shifts. It’s a useful early test for two clubs among the favorites in the Stanley Cup odds.
