Tampa Bay felt like a team in slow motion again in Los Angeles on Tuesday night. Andrei Vasilevskiy could not stop enough pucks in this one as the Kings outshot the Lightning 33-25. Tampa had problems with the Gabriel Vilardi line. Vilardi had a goal and an assist along with several high-danger chances. It does seem like the Lightning get bodied around more without Ryan McDonagh.

At this point, the Lightning must stick to a plan and play their game. Keep things simple. Making the game more complex is getting them in lots of trouble.

Tampa Bay fired only 25 shots on goal in Los Angeles. At least, Nikita Kucherov scored his first goal of the season. Maybe that gets the top line energized again.

The problems with the young Anaheim Ducks team are pretty simple. It boils down to defense. Anaheim is allowing 41.2 shots per game which ranks dead last in the NHL. Fortunately or unfortunately, the Ducks face an angry Lightning team who lost last night.

Ultimately, the youth will have to lead the way in the form of Trevor Zegras and Mason McTavish.  McTavish (+600) is second in the odds to win the Calder Trophy. Zegras and MacTavish are plenty of fun to watch but defensively, this Ducks team cannot get out of its own way.

The goaltender could see a few less shots against Tampa Bay since they are on the back end of a back-to-back.

At the same token, this could be a very entertaining game with Anaheim wanting to show something at home.
