My NHL player props today cover all four games on Monday, October 5. The card includes shots, points, and assists props, plus an anytime goalscorer pick, with each selection tailored to the player’s role and matchup.
I am looking at a young center driving San Jose’s offense, a high-volume Winnipeg shooter, and Boston’s leading shot producer. Shot volume, power play usage and opposing defensive numbers are central to my analysis.
Below are my NHL player props today, followed by the stats behind each selection and the available odds.
NHL Player Props & Anytime Goalscorer Picks Today
Odds per BetMGM, Bet365, and Caesars Sportsbook as of Oct. 5, 2026, at 10:02 AM ET.
Kyle Connor Shots on Goal Pick: 4+
- My pick: 4+ Shots on Goal (+114) at Bet365
My Kyle Connor shots-on-goal pick starts with a winger who has been a prolific shooter to open the 2026-27 campaign. Through just two games, the dynamic forward has fired 14 shots on goal (averaging 7.0 per game) while logging an elite 20.51 minutes of ice time per night.
He has already found the back of the net three times while operating on the man advantage. Tonight, he faces a Pittsburgh Penguins defense that is allowing 2.5 goals and 22.0 shots against per game.
Even though the Penguins have done a decent job of limiting overall shots in their defensive zone, Connor’s massive offensive usage makes his shot props incredibly appealing. He is his squad’s primary offensive driver, and his bench boss trusts him to carry the load. I am expecting him to keep peppering the goaltender all night long.
David Pastrnak Anytime Goalscorer Pick
- My pick: David Pastrnak anytime goalscorer (+165) at BetMGM
If you are hunting for elite anytime goalscorer picks, look no further than the Boston Bruins superstar winger. Pastrnak leads his squad with 13 shots on goal across three games (4.33 per game) and logs heavy usage with 20.21 minutes of ice time per contest.
He is an ideal regression candidate to find the back of the net tonight against the Ottawa Senators. When Pastrnak gets set up in his office on the power play, he is nearly impossible to defend.
The shot volume is absolutely there, and it is only a matter of time before he rips one past the twine. The Senators will have their hands full trying to slow down his lethal one-timer. Take this elite sniper to light the lamp and cash this ticket on home ice.
Jake Guentzel Points Pick: 1+
- My pick: 1+ Points (-245) at Caesars Sportsbook
My Jake Guentzel points prop starts with a forward who has quickly found his footing with the Tampa Bay Lightning, tallying three points in his first two games of the early season. Tonight presents a dream matchup against a struggling Philadelphia Flyers defense.
Philadelphia has been heavily outplayed in their own zone, surrendering an alarming 40.67 shots against per game and 4.33 goals against per contest. With the Flyers posting a porous .893 save percentage between the pipes, Guentzel is perfectly positioned to capitalize on the high volume of offensive chances Tampa Bay is expected to generate at 5-on-5.
He knows exactly how to find the soft spots in coverage to convert high-danger chances. I like backing him to get on the scoresheet in this highly favorable matchup.
Macklin Celebrini Assists Pick: 1+
- My pick: 1+ Assists (-105) at BetMGM
My Macklin Celebrini assists pick backs a San Jose Sharks center already proving to be a premier playmaker at the professional level. Celebrini has racked up five assists through his first two games while logging massive minutes (22.33 per game) as his team’s clear top-line center.
He has been especially dangerous when up a skater, logging two of those helpers on the power play. He will be tested against a Dallas Stars defense that has allowed 2.0 goals and 24.0 shots against per game to start the year.
However, with San Jose relying heavily on his elite vision to drive their offense out of the neutral zone, his role as the primary facilitator gives him a clear statistical edge. The young center dictates the pace of play beautifully, making this one of my favorite spots to attack tonight. Look for him to record another helper in this Western Conference showdown.
