  • Fresh off having their 10-game winning streak snapped, the Bruins host the Red Wings on Saturday, March 11th
  • On the other hand, Detroit is coming off a victory after losing six straight contests
  • You can find the Red Wings vs Bruins odds below, plus our best bet and prediction

At certain points over the last month, it felt like the Boston Bruins might never lose again. After winning 10 straight they finally succumbed to defeat on Thursday, as Boston fell 3-2 to Connor McDavid and the Oilers.

Next up for the league’s top team, a date with the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday, March 9th at home. Puck drop for this contest is scheduled for 1:00 pm ET at TD Garden and will be broadcast on ABC.

Check out the Red Wings vs Bruins odds below, as we also provide some analysis leading to our best bet and pick for this battle on the ice.

Red Wings vs Bruins Odds

Game Time Team Puck Line Total Moneyline
Saturday, March 11th Detroit Red Wings +1.5 (+110) O 6 (-117) +260
1:00 PM Boston Bruins -1.5 (-132) U 6 (-105) -335

This game is the first of a home-and-home between these two sides with both matchups being played in the afternoon. According to the odds, there is very little chance of a Red Wings victory in this one, as the Bruins are huge -335 moneyline favorites.

The over/under is pegged at six goals, a total these two squads have combined to exceed just once in their last eight head-to-head meetings, so when making a wager, keep the low-scoring history between these two in mind.

Red Wings Coming Off Come From Behind Victory

After a wretched couple of weeks that saw them tumble in the NHL playoff odds after losing six straight, leading to their general manager jettisoning a number of roster players, the Red Wings finally have something to cheer about.

They looked headed for a season-high 7th straight loss on Wednesday, but managed a come-from-behind, 4-3 victory over Chicago. To their credit, they thoroughly outplayed the Blackhawks in that one, outshooting them 41-20.

Scoring has been a major issue of late, as they have just 13 markers in their last seven. That doesn’t bode well heading into a back-to-back against a Bruins squad that has given up over two goals to them just once in their last six meetings.

It’s going to be tough for this squad to stay motivated the rest of the way, as a once-promising season fell by the wayside, causing Steve Yzerman to add some draft stock and prospects to the cupboard. One side story to watch out for in this one is Tyler Bertuzzi facing his old squad for the first time.

The Bruins Are Actually Human

Prior to the start of the regular season, the Bruins weren’t even one of the top 10 teams in the Stanley Cup odds at most sportsbooks. Currently, they are the consensus favorites and on pace to set an NHL regular season record for most points in a season.

NHL Teams – Most Points in a Season

Team Season Record Points Points Pct.
Boston Bruins 2022-23 49-9-5 134* (On Pace) .817
Montreal Canadiens 1976-77 60-8-12 132 .825
Detroit Red Wings 1995-96 62-13-7 131 .799
Montreal Canadiens 1977-78 59-10-11 129 .806
Tampa Bay Lightning 2018-19 62-16-4 128 .794

Shockingly, they blew a two-goal lead in their last game despite keeping two of the favorites in the Rocket Richard trophy odds from scoring. Falling 3-2, Boston held McDavid completely off the scoresheet and Leon Draisaitl notched just a single helper.

It was Boston’s first regulation loss after leading heading into the third period, and only their 3rd regulation loss at home all year. It was also the first time the Bruins lost in regulation after scoring first and after leading by two goals.

This likely spells bad news for Detroit, as Boston will be anxious to put the taste of defeat behind them. Before, the loss to Edmonton, the Bruins had won six of their last seven at TD Garden by at least two goals.

Red Wings vs Bruins Pick and Prediction

The Bruins can’t be big enough chalk in the NHL odds when they host Detroit on Saturday. These teams are heading in completely opposite directions and Boston has shut down the Detroit offense consistently in recent matchups.

Red Wings vs Bruins Same-Game Parlay Picks

Pick Odds
Boston Bruins Puck Line (-2.5) +128
Tyler Bertuzzi Anytime Goal Scorer +255
PARLAY ODDS  +510

What a perfect time it would be for Bertuzzi to find the twine for the first time in black and gold, but our more confident prediction is that the Bruins outclass the Red Wings with little to no problem. They’ve filled their quota for losses at home this month and should respond as most expect on Saturday.

Pick: Boston Bruins Puck Line -1.5 (-132)
