- Read on for my Wild vs Kraken prediction, best bets and starting goalies
Kirill Kaprizov and the Minnesota Wild head west to face the Seattle Kraken on Saturday, with puck drop set for 7 PM PT / 10 PM ET at Climate Pledge Arena.
Seattle has been fun to watch early, scoring in bunches and giving up plenty too. Minnesota has taken the opposite route, and the prediction markets have picked a side. Check the latest NHL odds before puck drop.
My Wild vs Kraken prediction, best bets and starting goalie breakdown are below.
Wild vs Kraken Prediction
- Wild moneyline (59¢ on Kalshi)
My Wild vs Kraken prediction is Minnesota to win on the road. A Wild YES contract costs 59¢ on Kalshi, a 59% implied chance before fees, and each winning contract pays $1. Seattle YES is trading at 43¢.
The Wild (6-3-2) have controlled play more often than not. They’re outshooting opponents 30.6 to 25.7 per game and allowing just 2.45 goals a night.
Seattle (7-3-1) has the better record, but it’s living on the wrong side of the shot count. The Kraken fire 26.4 shots per game while giving up 31.5, and they’re allowing 3.36 goals per game.
Wild vs Kraken Key Stats
Seattle’s 3.82 goals per game come on a 14.5% scoring rate against its shot totals. That’s a lot of finishing to lean on against a team that limits looks the way Minnesota does.
Special teams tilt Minnesota’s way, too. The Wild power play is clicking at 25.7%, while the Kraken penalty kill sits at 68.8%.
Then there’s Kirill Kaprizov, who has eleven goals and 17 points through eleven games. Quinn Hughes adds 13 points from the blueline. No Kraken skater has more than nine, with Jordan Eberle, Kaapo Kakko and Chandler Stephenson all sitting at that mark.
Wild vs Kraken Best Bets
- Under 6.5 goals (54¢ on Kalshi)
My second Wild vs Kraken best bet is the Under 6.5. NO on the Over 6.5 market costs 54¢ on Kalshi, which works out to a 54% implied probability before fees. YES on the Over is trading at 47¢.
Minnesota games have stayed tight. The Wild’s 2.91 goals for and 2.45 against add up to 5.36 per game, more than a goal below this number.
Seattle’s games run hotter, at 7.18 combined goals per game. So this comes down to whose style wins out, and I trust the team controlling the shot count with the best goalie numbers on either side.
Seattle has spread its scoring around. Freddy Gaudreau leads the team with six goals, and Jared McCann has three. If Seattle’s shooting cools off even a little, its offense has no Kaprizov-type to bail it out.
Wild vs Kraken Starting Goalies
Wild vs Kraken Goalie Stats
Jesper Wallstedt has made ten of Minnesota’s eleven starts, going 6-2-2 with a 2.19 GAA and .915 save percentage. A start like that is how goalies work their way into the Vezina Trophy odds conversation.
Seattle has split the net. Philipp Grubauer is 4-1-1 with a 2.76 GAA and .907 save percentage across seven appearances and six starts.
Joey Daccord has gone 3-2 in five starts, but his 3.89 GAA and .882 save percentage would make him the bigger concern for the Kraken. Either way, Minnesota has the edge in the crease.
