  • The NASCAR Playoff Chase continues at Kansas with the Hollywood Casino 400 set to run on Sunday, September 11th, 2022
  • Several contenders include Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Kyle Larson, and maybe Erik Jones again
  • Below are the Hollywood Casino 400 betting trends and odds ahead of Sunday afternoon’s race

NASCAR heads out to Kansas City, Kansas for race number 28 of the 2022 season. The Kansas Speedway is an intermediate 1.5-mile track. The course lists Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch as co-favorites in the Hollywood Casino 400 odds. Can a Ford or even a Toyota toss steal the win?

This is a week after the Cook Out Southern 500, where Erik Jones survived the Toyotas and the tire wear to deliver a long shot victory.

Here are the Hollywood Casino 400 odds.

Kyle Larson Swept the Fall Race Last Year

Yes, Kyle Larson has been very fast at Kansas and has led the most laps (26%) in his last five appearances. Only Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick have led more than 10% of the laps over the past three seasons. The difference this year at Kansas may just be the weather and the fact that Larson did not start off the playoff chase so good last week.

Now, Larson also stands third in the odds at Caesars (+650). Chase Elliott (+750) is listed at Caesars but Denny Hamlin is at just +450). The Caesars Sportsbook odds feature some more uniform numbers this week similar to Barstool for the most part.

Who wins the September 11th race at Kansas? Larson led the most laps last September (131), got the pole, and won the race last year en route to the NASCAR championship. Can he do it again or will Denny Hamlin climb one more step on the podium?

The Playoff Chase Continues

Sports bettors are still hesitant on Chase Elliott in some places (+750) again compared to Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin this week. The Chevy driver remains the favorite (+350) with the NASCAR Cup Series odds. Elliott does not have the results the Toyotas have here (0 vs 3 wins). Does the Next-Gen car change much? Remember, Joey Logano won this race in the Spring and Sunday may feature Spring-like conditions.

History was kind to Logano in the Spring but his car has been lightning quick in the turns first at Darlington and then at Kansas. Everyone saw what the Team Penske car did at the Spring race.  Can Logano keep his tenuous point lead in the playoffs? Better yet, can anyone in the playoff chase win and get in on Sunday?

Hollywood Casino 400 Predictions & Picks

The weather could be interesting Sunday afternoon. Hopefully, the showers clear out as expected and sun shines with cooler temperatures.

Next-Gen racing has taught some lessons with the tires. Maybe NASCAR figured out the crazy engine issues from last week.

Finally, look at Kyle Larson for the pole at +700 or even Chase Elliott at +750. They may be worth a shot. Drivers like Hamlin, Logano, and even Christopher Bell could be battling again like last week.

Here are our best bets:

  • Top Pick: Denny Hamlin to Win (+600 – Barstool)
  • Other Contenders: Chase Elliott (+800), Christopher Bell (+1200), Alex Bowman (+3000), Ty Gibbs (+3500)
