NASCAR again races with a Sunday afternoon race after last week’s rain-delayed Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500 with the running of the Toyota Owners 400 on Sunday, April 18th, 2021. Martin Truex Jr. has emerged as a +400 favorite to take home the checkered flag in the Toyota Owners 400 odds.

On the other hand, the 40-year-old faces some tough competition in his quest for his third win of the 2021 season. Past winner Brad Keselowski is an intriguing +750 bet, while Joey Logano and Chase Elliott arrive at Richmond Raceway for Sunday Afternoon’s race sporting attractive +850 odds.

Martin Truex Jr. Aims to Win Third Race of Season

NASCAR drivers run again on a three-quarter mile paved track when the flag drops for Sunday afternoon’s race at 3:00 PM EST. That suits Martin Truex Jr. just fine, who has won the Richmond race in two of the last three trips to the raceway along with a second-place finish last season. Truex Jr. won last week’s Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500.

Truex will be trying to claim a third victory in his past four appearances at the Richmond Raceway track. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver claimed victory here in 2019 after starting in fifth and has now earned the win in two of his past three appearances at Richmond.

Further bolstering his position atop the odds is his even more favorable starting position from the pole on Sunday afternoon. Truex has taken advantage of favorable starting positions this season, finishing sixth or better in four of the previous six races he has started among the first five rows. That includes his two victories.

Brad Keselowski is Still One to Watch

Sports bettors should be well aware of Brad Keselowski in this weekend’s race. The Team Penske driver claimed victory in the only race of 2020 on the Richmond Raceway track. Keselowski is again listed in the top-five NASCAR Cup Series odds, but the 37-year-old has struggled to produce this season. He has just three top-five finishes and no wins in 2021.

Keselowski had such high hopes coming into Martinsville Speedway. Unfortunately, he crashed out last week on lap 385 after enjoying a decent run in his car. Combine that with finishing outside the top-10 at the Bristol Dirt Race, and that has relegated the Team Penske driver to the No. 20 spot on Sunday’s starting grid. It is a good way back of the No. 9 starting spot he occupied ahead of his win at the event just last Fall. Keselowski may be able to sneak up on everyone and has tons of value in the Toyota Owners 400 odds.

Joey Logano Poised for Top Finish Once More at Richmond?

The Team Penske driver won three weeks ago on the dirt track at Bristol. That win helped Logano earn the pole position for the Martinsville race where he finished sixth. That result allows Logano to start from the fifth position this weekend at Richmond where he has taken the checkered flag before in 2017.

Logano, during that 2017 win, qualified fifth and managed to drive aggressively to the win. Most people forget that Logano has the ability to win from anywhere on the Richmond track. He was relegated to the rear of the field that year and it mattered little. The three Spring races for Logano have seen him start in the top five, and finish in the top five every single time (first, fourth, and second). The 2020 Fall race saw the Team Penske driver start in second and end up in third.

The Picks: Brad Keselowski to win (+750);  Joey Logano to finish top three (+240)
