The last time it was in the competition in 2013/14 it was eliminated at the last 16 stage by Atletico Madrid.

Milan currently sits in second place in Serie A behind leaders Napoli after an impressive start which has included five wins and one draw.

However, the oddsmakers at DraftKings make Atletico the favorite for an away win at +155.

Atletico’s First La Liga Defeat

This is despite the fact that Diego Simeone’s reigning Spanish champion suffered its first La Liga defeat of the season when it lost 1-0 at Alaves last weekend.

This placed it fourth in the La Liga standings

With kick-off at the San Siro at 3:00 pm ET, Milan is priced at +195 for a win. The draw, furthermore, is rated at +220.

Milan has regained some of its old swagger.

The draw is certainly the best offer here with both teams in good form in their respective leagues.

With Milan coach Stefano Pioli approaching the second anniversary of his appointment, Milan has regained some of its old swagger.

The team finished second last season to win back its place in the UCL.

Its 2-1 win at Spezia last weekend was the fifth of the season with the only points dropped in six games so far coming in a 1-1 draw at Juventus.

Only three goals have been conceded in those six Serie A matches. Meanwhile, the team has scored in all seven of its games so far this season.

However, that defensive resilience was not so apparent in this season’s dramatic UCL opener at Anfield.

After Liverpool was handed an early lead thanks to an own goal by defender Fikayo Tomori, Milan scored twice on the stroke of half-time.

The target-men were Ante Rabic and Brahim Diaz.

Second-half goals from Mo Salah and Jordan Henderson, however, gave Liverpool a 3-2 victory.

Midfielder Diaz is Milan’s current leading marksman with four goals.

Atletico’s UCL campaign began in much more drab fashion in the goalless draw at home to Porto.

Only 11 Shots in Dreary Draw

There were only 11 shots in total in the stalemate.

Indeed, Atletico has struggled for goals this season despite boasting an attacking trio of Luis Suarez, Anton Griezmann and Joao Felix.

It has scored just nine times in seven fixtures in La Liga while conceding six goals.

In a bleak recent run, it has won only once and scored only once in four games in all competitions.

Uruguayan superstar Suarez is the joint leading scorer along with Argentine winger Angel Correa. Each has three goals.

But neither Griezmann nor Felix has hit the back of the net yet.

In last season’s UCL, Atletico was beaten by eventual winners Chelsea in the last 16 – losing 1-0 at home and then 2-0 in London.

Meanwhile, Milan made its exit from the Europa League at the same stage.

Atletico lost its last two road trip games in Spain.

Following a 1-1 draw at Manchester United, it subsequently lost 1-0 at home.

The last time Milan and Atletico met in the UCL in 2013/14, the Spanish side thumped their Italian visitors 4-1 at home in the quarterfinal first leg.

Atletico then won 1-0 at the San Siro for a 5-1 aggregate triumph.

Three Home Wins for Milan

This time, however, Milan may be bolstered by the fact that it has won all three of its home games so far this season while scoring eight times and conceding only once.

Conversely, Atletico has lost its last two road trip games in Spain.

Additionally, Atletico has failed to score in four further trips to Italy since.

In conclusion, both these sides are in solid form- despite Atletico being a little subdued recently.

It suggests they will each attempt to keep things tight with a draw the most likely outcome at a good price.

Pick: Draw +220
