Bilbao might not be a superior side in Spain’s top flight, but they’ve enjoyed no shortage of success in the Copa del Rey. The Lions have won the competition 23 times and also finished as a runner-up on 16 occasions. Athletic hasn’t lifted the ultimate prize since 1984 but was in the finals in 2020 and 2021.
In the first leg, however, Ernesto Valverde’s men struggled to produce the goods and will have work to do on Tuesday. Although playing in front of their home fans should help, Bilbao was rather lifeless in the final third on Sunday, too. A scoreless stalemate with Osasuna in a La Liga meeting in January isn’t exactly great news, either.

As for the first leg of this tie, Barcelona loanee Abde Ezzalzouli gave Osasuna the advantage in the second half with a brilliant solo run and finish. Barcelona or Real Madrid awaits if the visitors can come out on top Tuesday.
