Win and you’re champions. That will be Borussia Dortmund’s mindset on Saturday when they welcome Mainz to Signal Iduna Park for the final game of the campaign. The kick-off is scheduled for 9:30 AM ET and we have your Borussia Dortmund vs Mainz prediction here.

BVB can secure their first Bundesliga title since 2011 with a victory here, currently sitting two points clear of Bayern at the top. As for Mainz, they can try and play spoiler, but who knows how much other German clubs want to see Munich lift the ultimate prize for an 11th straight time.

Borussia Dortmund vs Mainz Odds

Matchup Moneyline
Dortmund -700
Mainz +1100
Draw +750

The hosts are a massive -700 favorite for an implied win probability of 87.50%. The visitors come back at +1100 Bundesliga odds and have a mere 8.33% chance of coming out victorious. Considering Dortmund has won four in a row against Mainz, it makes sense.

Dortmund vs Mainz Preview

Although the Black and Yellows struggled to find success in Europe, they’ve certainly made up for it domestically. Dortmund has been neck in neck with Bayern all campaign long and really strengthened their title case over the last month and a half.

Since a 4-2 defeat to the Bavarians on April 1st, Edin Terzic’s side hasn’t lost in the Bundesliga. That’s a run of seven games where BVB won five of them. In the last three weeks alone, Dortmund has outscored their opponents 14-2. They couldn’t be in better form.

Last Sunday was a convincing 3-0 victory over Augsburg, with Sebastian Haller bagging a second-half brace before Julian Brandt sealed the deal. A win Saturday would allow the hosts to celebrate the title with their home fans.

Mainz meanwhile is on the opposite side of the spectrum. Europe isn’t a reality and the 05ers have lost four straight league matches, getting outscored 13-3 in the process. Conceding is a major issue for Bo Svensson’s men, allowing 53 goals.

Mainz was ripped apart on Matchday 33 after scoring an early opener. Stuttgart responded with four goals to win 4-1, despite having just six attempts on target. The hosts actually controlled 54% of the ball but were hopeless at the back, a common occurrence in recent weeks. It won’t get any easier against a lethal Dortmund attack.

Dortmund vs Mainz Lineups & Injuries

Dortmund Projected Starting XI: Kobel; Wolf, Sule, Hummels, Ryerson; Brandt, Can, Bellingham; Malen, Haller, Adeyemi

Injuries: Meunier, Coulibaly, Bynoe-Gittens

Mainz Projected Starting XI: Zentner; Hanche-Olsen, Bell, Fernandes; Da Costa, Barreiro, Kohr, Caci; Stach, Ingvartsen; Onisiwo

Dortmund is relatively healthy here. Thomas Meunier and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens are sidelined due to injury, while youngster Soumaila Coulibaly is currently with France at the U20 World Cup.

As for Mainz, they’re without Jonathan Burkardt, Alexander Hack, Silvan Widmer, and Maxim Leitsch because of health issues. Ludovic Ajorque is suspended, too.

Dortmund vs Mainz Prediction

Since the moneyline is so steep for BVB in the Dortmund vs Mainz odds, I’m eyeing a specific bet here: Both teams to score + no draw. Mainz has found the back of the net in three of the last four defeats to BVB. Expect goals.

Dortmund vs Mainz Pick: Both teams to score + no draw (-110)
