Wolfsburg vs Bayern Munich Prediction

The Wolves of Wolfsburg will be looking for a much-needed result against Bayern on Saturday on Bundesliga Matchday 29, but it will not be easy. They sit just a point ahead of Frankfurt, which means there’s a possibility of the Wolves slipping into fourth if they lose or draw and Eintracht wins.

Oliver Glasner’s side is actually coming off a heartbreaking 4-3 defeat to the Eagles on Matchday 28 in a rather rare performance from Wolfsburg, who have conceded less than a goal per game this term. Striker Wout Weghorst kept up his brilliance in the final third with a goal and an assist, but it wasn’t enough to collect the three points.

Bayern is fresh off a shock two-legged defeat in the Champions League quarterfinals to PSG. Their quest for a second consecutive European title has ended abruptly as their focus shifts to securing another Bundesliga trophy.

Good news for Hansi Flick’s men, they haven’t lost once in the last 11 meetings with the Wolves, securing ten victories during that span. After also being held by Union Berlin last weekend, Bayern will be searching for a statement victory.

Wolfsburg is currently on a 13-match unbeaten run at the Volkswagen Arena, but I believe that’s going to end. The champions are going to have a real fire in their belly after bowing out of Europe earlier than expected, which is going to result in a convincing three points on Saturday.

Pick: Bayern Munich to win by 2 (+475)

Borussia Monchengladbach vs Eintracht Frankfurt Prediction

There’s a lot riding on this fixture for both sides on Bundesliga Matchday 29. Monchengladbach could potentially move within a point of a top-six spot with a victory, while Frankfurt, as mentioned above, may step into the top three if the Wolves lose to Bayern and the Eagles win.

Gladbach has had a rather forgettable campaign despite making it to the knockout stages of the Champions League. Marco Rose’s side lost seven in a row at one point before two wins and a draw in their last three appearances. However, they have played terrific against Eintracht in recent memory, going unbeaten in the previous five clashes.

Frankfurt is riding a high this term. They’re pretty much a lock for a top-four placing and have been scoring loads of goals, especially lately. The Eagles have netted 11 times in their last three fixtures, with Andre Silva firing on all cylinders with 23 goals to his name. A massive result over Wolfsburg last weekend kept their torrid run alive as well, losing just once in 13 games.

The reverse fixture in December saw these two play to a 3-3 draw. But, given Frankfurt’s current form, I have to go with them here. Their free-flowing style should allow them to pick apart a vulnerable Gladbach backline.

Pick: Eintracht Frankfurt (+160), Over 2.5 Goals (-186)

Union Berlin vs Stuttgart Prediction

Just like Gladbach, Union Berlin has a chance to move closer to the top-six with a victory, depending on Leverkusen’s result on Bundesliga Matchday 29. Being able to collect a point in a 1-1 draw with Bayern last Saturday was massive and should do a lot for their confidence.

Berlin has won just once in their last five matches though, with three draws as well. The full points are certainly needed, but little separated these two sides earlier in the term in a 2-2 result in Stuttgart. Union has lost just once on home soil this season though, going 5-8-1.

The visitors impressed last time out, losing 3-2 to Dortmund in a rather solid performance. Possession was essentially split in half and the opportunities were definitely there for Stuttgart.

Four of the last five meetings between these two outfits have ended in a draw. With that being said, a similar result is a safe bet, with both sides finding the back of the net.

Pick: Draw (+235), Both Teams to Score (-155)
