Bundesliga Round 12 Odds & Picks: Stuttgart vs Union Berlin, Werder Bremen vs Dortmund, Bayern Munich vs Wolfsburg
- After 11 Bundesliga matches this year, there is a new league leader, a true rarity for Germany’s top flight, as first place Bayer Leverkusen play Koln on Wednesday
- Fourth-place Wolfsburg will travel to the Allianz where they battle Bayern Munich, while Union Berlin and Stuttgart face off just outside the top four
- In the big match of the midweek, Bayern Munich are expectedly heavy favorites against Wolfsburg with a moneyline of -315.
We are not even in the full swing of the holiday season and the Bundesliga is full of exciting storylines. Borussia Dortmund have let go of their manager, Lucien Favre, after just a year and a half, while Leverkusen are looking like true title contenders early in the year. Bundesliga Round 12 has a variety of good games at the top, middle and bottom of the Bundesliga table that surely will have fans of every team tuned in.
Additionally, the Bundesliga top four is only separated by a mere four points. With Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg facing off, there could be a lot of movement within the top of the table. Furthermore, as we get deeper into the campaign these points become more and more vital for teams like Leverkusen, Dortmund and Leipzig if they want a title challenge. In the past four seasons, Bayern Munich have averaged 81.5 points, meaning these vital matches are imperative for the ultimate success of these clubs.

Bundesliga Pick #1: Stuttgart vs Union Berlin
The first match is between sixth place Union Berlin and seventh place Stuttgart. These two teams are level on points and have also drawn their last two Bundesliga matches against each other. Stuttgart will look to build on two good wins against Werder Bremen and Dortmund as they thrashed Lucien Favre’s former side 5-1 at the Signal Iduna Park.
Silas Wamangituka last four games for VfB Stuttgart:

However, Union Berlin have not won in their last three fixtures, two of which were at home. A side that has given up 15 goals this season will have to defend Silas Wamangituka and Sasa Kalajdzic, who have been impact players for Stuttgart under Thomas Hitzlsperger. While Union Berlin has the better start to the season, I expect Stuttgart to win this Bundesliga Round 12 match with valuable plus odds.
My Pick: Stuttgart moneyline (+110)
Bundesliga Pick #2: Werder Bremen vs Borussia Dortmund
Another interesting match is Werder Bremen at home against the yellow and black of Dortmund. With new interim manager Slaven Bilic coming in to take the reins, Dortmund will have to improvise, while still challenging for the Bundesliga title. The good news for Dortmund is that their first challengers under Bilic, have lost their last three games by a margin of 9-4.
Lucien Favre is gonna be sacked, as @bild_sport announced today. Edin Terzic, former assistant of Slaven Bilic, will take charge of Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season. 🟡⚫️ #BVB

Meanwhile, Dortmund have an array of talent ready to be sculpted into an actual team. Between healthy talent of Reyna, Sancho and Bellingham, they should be able to create a heap of opportunities. They do have a hefty injury list including Erling Haaland and Thorgan Hazard, but usually when a manager gets sacked, teams fizz over with creativity, goals and results as if they have something to prove.
My Pick: Borussia Dortmund -1.5 (+160)
Bundesliga Pick #3: Bayern Munich vs Wolfsburg
The last highlighted game is arguably the game most fans should be looking forward to the most between Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg. This Bundesliga Round 12 match is more important for Bayern as they do not want to give Leverkusen an early advantage near the holidays. Nonetheless, their opponents have had a very good start, winning four out of their last six matches.
However, Wolfsburg’s record against Bayern Munich is dreadful. The last three times these sides have faced in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich won all three by an aggregate of 12-0. Wout Weghorst is really Wolfsburg’s only chance of getting a positive result, and Bayern will try to stop any service to him through the middle. Given their history and the importance of this match, I like the thought of Bayern cruising to a victory with a handful of goals.
My Pick: Over 3.5 total goals (-125)
