FC Salzburg vs Dinamo Zagreb Prediction
In what is looking like a wide-open group, Salzburg have made a steady start with two draws. While they may have been a little disappointed to miss out on a win on Matchday 1 when they drew at home to AC Milan, they will have been delighted to draw away at Chelsea – a game in which they had to come from behind.

The disappointment from the Milan game came from the fact they had taken a lead through Noah Okafor but it was still a worthy point, and to have followed it up with that come-from-behind draw at Stamford Bridge – Okafor again the scorer – was a big positive for the Austrian champions.
Salzburg in a Good Place
They now face back-to-back games against Zagreb – in theory, the weakest team in the group – so the minimum of a win and a draw would leave them with a great chance of qualifying for the knockout stage heading into the final two games.

And they head into this one in a good place as Matthias Jaissle’s team looks to at least repeat the feat of last season when they made it into the last 16. Domestically, they have also made a great start as they go in search of their 10th consecutive Austrian Bundesliga title, with a four-point lead at the top of the table.

Shock Win Over Chelsea for Dinamo
Zagreb have opened their UCL campaign with a win and a draw, and were responsible for one of the biggest upsets of the tournament so far when they beat Chelsea 1-0 on opening day. Unfortunately, they were unable to follow this up against AC Milan at the SanSiro, where they were beaten 3-1.
But they will have taken a lot from the win in west London and will believe a place in the knockout phase is within their grasp, especially with striker Mislav Orsic in good form after scoring in each of their opening two games.

Awayday Struggles in the UCL for Zagreb
Damir Krznar’s team clearly feels more comfortable on home soil and their away form in the UCL group stages isn’t good. Their last away win was way back in November 1998, and since then they have lost 16 in 19. In order to progress they will need to find a way of getting at least a draw away from home.
But, like Salzburg, they are in good form and the Croatian champions have made a good start to the defense of their title with ten wins and a draw from their first 11 games. After beating Slaven Belupo 4-1 at the weekend, their lead at the top of the HNL is 11 points.

FC Salzburg vs Dinamo Zagreb Pick
Salzburg open as odds-on favorites, but Zagreb’s awful run on the road in the UCL has to end soon.
With there still being a genuine chance of Dinamo making it to the knockout stages in this wide-open group, I see value here in the Croatians setting up defensively and earning a point in a low-scoring draw.
Pick: FC Salzburg and Dinamo Zagreb to draw to win (+280)
