Barcelona (-400) vs. Sevilla (+1000), Draw (+600)

Barcelona (20-6-3, 66 points) hosts Sevilla (17-7-5, 58 points) Wednesday, April 5th for a decisive La Liga game.

Barca are closing in on league leaders Real Madrid, currently trailing them by just two points. If they didn’t lose their recent match to 17th-place Deportivo la Coruna, they would be on top of the table. Real Madrid have played one less game than the rest of the favorites, so it’s crucial for Barca to win their upcoming match against Sevilla in order to keep the title race close.

Sevilla are fourth in the league and had been doing well for most of the season, but they’re currently in a bit of a slump. They’re winless in their last four league games and were unexpectedly knocked out of the Champions League by Leicester City.

Barca manager Luis Enrique has been tinkering with the lineup lately, playing Lionel Messi in an attacking midfield position instead of in the front three. This leaves the right forward position available to one of the up-and-coming attacking players like Denis Suarez or Rafinha. It also allows Messi to play a more creative, playmaking role in the squad, which he seems to thrive in.

Barcelona have a real chance of winning the treble this season. They face 11th-place Alaves in the Copa del Rey finals and are the favorites to win the Champions League. Real Madrid are the favorites to win the League title, but Barca are hot on their heels.

Barcelona have beaten Sevilla in their last five meetings. Sevilla are out of the title race and there’s no risk of them falling below fourth place by the end of the season. All they have to fight for is the third-place spot against Atletico Madrid.

Sevilla are a great team but it’s going to take something special for them to beat Barca at Camp Nou. Judging from their recent performances, I don’t think they’ll have what it takes to take down the Catalan giants.

Pick: Barcelona (-400)
