Club America vs Pumas UNAM Betting Trends

Saturday night’s matchup marks the third non-friendly meeting between these two clubs this season. Nothing was settled in Wednesday’s first leg clash, which marked the first time these two clubs have played to a scoreless draw in league play since January 2018.

That contest also extended the Pumas’ scoring drought against America in league action to three matches, a run that includes a 2-0 defeat at Estadio Azteca back on October 2.

America has regularly filled the net when hosting Pumas in league play. The club has averaged 2.38 goals per game while racking up a 5-3-0 win-draw-loss record over their past eight meetings.

However, the Pumas are also enjoying somewhat of a road warrior run of their own, scoring six total goals while going undefeated in their past four across all competitions.

America vs Pumas Prediction

The pressure on Pumas has increased after the club failed to find the back of the net on home turf in Wednesday’s first leg matchup. However, it is unwise to underestimate this club’s ability to fill the net after seeing them pot multiple goals on four occasions during their preceding 4-1-1 run.

Things have not gone so well for America, who have now been held off the scoresheet on three occasions during a four-match winless slide. However, America remains a dominant force on home turf, where they are undefeated in 18 league contests since New Year’s Day.

The Picks: Draw (+245); UNDER 2.5 (-145)

CsyD Atlas vs CF Monterrey Betting Trends

Saturday night’s matchup marks the fourth league clash between these clubs in 2021, and third at Estadio Jalisco. Atlas claimed a 2-0 victory when they hosted Monterrey in September, and have now earned the win with multi-goal efforts in two of their past three head-to-head clashes on home turf.

That is bad news for the Rayados, who have struggled to produce steady results in recent weeks. The club has posted just two wins in nine outings while being held off the scoresheet on five occasions.

The big exception to their slide came a week ago, when Monterrey punched their ticket to the quarter-finals with a decisive 4-1 road win over Cruz Azul.

Atlas vs Monterrey Prediction

Atlas will be poised to end decades of futility when they hit the turf for Saturday night’s contest. The club has not claimed a league title since 1951, and have not earned a berth in a Liga MX final since 1999.

However, the club will need a better outing from their strikers if they are to advance, after being blanked for the fourth time in six outings in Wednesday’s first leg. That includes Julio Furch, who leads the club with six goals in Apertura action, including two markers over his past four appearances.

It remains to be seen which edition of the Rayados will show up on Saturday, the club that routed Cruz Azul a week ago, or the one that scored just one total goal over their three previous road dates.

With a draw no longer good enough to earn them a berth in the semis, look for Monterrey to press early. However, with leading goalscorer Rogelio Funes Mori enter the contest under a yellow card, production may have to come from the supporting cast.

The Picks: Draw (+205); BTTS (+100)
