Leeds vs Tottenham Prediction

Leeds saw an unbeaten streak come to an end last time out. Marcelo Bielsa’s team have remained impressive even with little to play for over the last few weeks, taking points off several of the big six. This is a tough matchup for Spurs as a result, though Ryan Mason has overseen consecutive league victories. Spurs are five points off Chelsea in fourth, and really need a victory here to keep the pressure on their London rivals.

Released from the restraints of Jose Mourinho, Spurs are playing with renewed attacking vigor. Combine that with Bielsa’s free-flowing, breathless Leeds, and this should be a great game for the neutral. This has the makings of a high-scoring match with two teams enjoying their football.

Surprisingly, over 2.5 goals has hit in only 56% of Leeds’ games this season. That figure is up at 60% for Spurs. The price is relatively short, but it remains a good bet for this match. Finishing chances, rather than creating them, has been the issue for Leeds of late. They will get plenty of opportunities against this Spurs defense, and Mason will enable Harry Kane and co to exploit the space left by Bielsa’s side.

Pick: Over 2.5 goals (-159)

Manchester City vs Chelsea Prediction

A battle of two of the game’s greatest tacticians is always fascinating. It’s particularly intriguing when this game serves as preparation for their Champions League final duel later this month. Thomas Tuchel got the better of Pep Guardiola when the teams met in the FA Cup semifinal, and both managers could keep their cards close to their chests here.

City are under no pressure. Beating Chelsea would be a boost ahead of the final, but the title is almost theirs. Chelsea have built a slight cushion to fifth-placed West Ham, yet falling to defeat on Saturday would make for a stressful few weeks to close out the campaign. Tuchel is expected to rotate, and the day less of rest could make a difference here with Chelsea playing on Wednesday.

Chelsea’s recent success has been built on a sturdy defense. The peculiar loss to West Brom is the only time they’ve conceded more than once in a game since Tuchel succeeded Frank Lampard. With neither manager wanting to give much away, a low-scoring match is likely.

Pick: Under 2.5 goals (-148)

Aston Villa vs Manchester United Prediction

Manchester United are embarking on a remarkably congested bit of the schedule. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is going to be forced to rotate at some point, though it’s unclear whether he will do that for the trip to Villa Park. Aston Villa have been a shadow of their former selves of late despite a win last time out. Jack Grealish remains sidelined, and Dean Smith’s team look no better than a mid-table side without the England international.

Solskjaer named a strong team despite carrying a heavy first-leg advantage into their Europa League tie with Roma. The Manchester United manager has shown a reluctance to rotate throughout the campaign, which is partly because of their poor depth. Bruno Fernandes will need a game or two off sooner or later, however, and if that comes on Sunday, it could present an opportunity for Villa.

Manchester United hasn’t lost in the league since late January. Aston Villa’s recent form leaves plenty to be desired, and it’s seven matches without a clean sheet. Playing without Grealish has proved a real challenge for the Villains, and that makes it hard to back them here.

Pick: Manchester United to score first and win (-103)
