Newcastle United vs Tottenham Hotspur Prediction
This promises to quite an afternoon at St. James’ Park, with it signaling in a new era for the Toon after a Saudi-backed consortium finally took control of the club after a prolonged legal wrangle with the EPL. The rights and wrongs of such a deal have been discussed at length in the English press but, for Newcastle fans at least, the bottom line is they now have a club with mega-rich owners with ambitions to take their club to the very top.

The transformation into a super-club will take time but, for now, Toon fans will rejoice in being rid of former owner Mike Ashley, who they saw as a hindrance to the progress of their club. This will make for a raucous, buoyant atmosphere at St James’ Park, and will inspire the current team to produce a performance good enough for their first win of the season.

Tottenham could be the ideal visitors given how inconsistent they have been this season and how their fragility has been exposed when the pressure is on. With a noisy, bouncing St. James’ Park assured, the pressure will be immense and I can see the Toon edging this and earning their first win of the campaign.
Picks: Newcastle to win (+250)
Leicester City vs Manchester United Prediction
It has not been the flying start to the campaign Leicester fans had anticipated after an impressive fifth-place finish last season, and they come into this off the back of a run of four games without a win. The visit of an inconsistent but star-filled Manchester United in these circumstances is not ideal for the Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers but he will be hoping for a big performance from his men that will reignite their season.

United comes into this game having not won their last two – losing to Aston Villa and drawing with Everton, both at Old Trafford – but are unbeaten away from home and will fancy their chances of returning to winning ways at the King Power stadium. Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to return to the starting XI after being on the bench for the Everton game and will be influential, while United is still likely to be without their injured skipper, Harry Maguire.

With United in town, opponents tend to raise their game, so I expect a performance here from Leicester who knows a win will kickstart their campaign. Without Maguire this United defense is unconvincing, so I can see the Foxes getting on the board, but it may only be enough to earn them a point.
Pick: Leicester City and Man Utd to draw (+260) / Jamie Vardy anytime goalscorer (+180)
Brentford vs Chelsea Prediction
Brentford has made an outstanding start to their first top-flight season since 1947 and their 3-3-1 record has taken them up to a heady seventh in the table. Along the way, they have recorded wins over Arsenal, Wolves and West Ham and have drawn with Liverpool, so have shown themselves unmoved by big-name opponents, and the win over the Hammers just before the international break will have sent their confidence soaring. They will not fear the visit of near-neighbors Chelsea.

The Blues, meanwhile, start the day as league leaders – a point ahead of Liverpool and two ahead of the two Manchester teams, Everton and Brighton – and have lost just one EPL game so far this season. With Liverpool playing Watford, Chelsea knows only a win is likely to keep them top but will be wary of Brentford’s high-intensity, high-tempo style, especially at home.

Brentford’s home win against Arsenal on opening day will be seen by some as the barometer for this one, but this Chelsea team is on another level to the Gunners. The Blues will not wilt under the pressure of an excitable Brentford Community Stadium and I see them riding out an early Bees’ storm to run out comfortable winners.
Pick: Chelsea to win (+170) / Chelsea to win 2-0 (+600)
