The Red Bulls opened their Champions League schedule with a narrow 2-1 victory over Benfica two weeks ago, but have produced mixed results so far this month, posting wins in just two of four outings across all competitions, capped by a lopsided 3-1 loss to Schalke 04 in Bundesliga play this past weekend.

With that loss, Leipzig were dumped from their perch atop the Bundesliga table, where they now trail Bayern Munich by a single point. Despite this past weekend’s defeat, the German side has produced steady results in recent outings.

Leipzig has rebounded from a season-ending four-match winless streak across all competitions by opening up the current campaign with four straight victories. The Red Bulls have regularly filled the net, potting 19 total goals over their past eight contests. However, inconsistency on home turf remains an ongoing concern.

The club have compiled a middling 3-2-4 win-draw-loss record in their past nine home dates ahead of Wednesday afternoon’s contest at Red Bull Arena. Leipzig have also posted just one win in three previous Champions League contests on home turf, a 3-3 victory over Porto in group stage action two years ago.

The Red Bulls have regularly filled the net, potting 19 total goals over their past eight contests. However, inconsistency on home turf remains an ongoing concern.

The Red Bulls eventually bowed out of their Champions League debut in the group stage, but with one win to their credit so far this season, Leipzig have emerged as a heavy -150 favorite to finish atop the Group G table in Champions League futures betting.

Lyon enter their first-ever meeting with Leipzig on Wednesday looking for answers after failing to earn a victory in their past seven contests across all competitions. The Kids stormed out of the gate in Ligue 1 action, scoring nine total goals in a pair of clean sheet victories over Monaco and Angers SCO, but it has been all downhill since, with the French side scoring six total goals while going 0-4-3 in their past seven matches overall.

That run includes a 1-1 draw in their group stage opener against Zenit St. Petersburg and continued with a 1-0 loss on home turf to Nantes in league action this past weekend. The Lyonnais have also turned in dismal results in recent road outings, posting just one victory in their past six across all competitions, and have turned in equally brutal performances in Champions League action, going winless in their past eight contests.

However, the club has occasionally risen to the occasion against superior opponents, most notably a year ago, when they secured a berth in the UCL knockout stage with a stunning 2-1 victory in Manchester City, which also marked their last win at this tournament.

Picks: RB Leipzig to win (-155); Under 3.0 (-105); RB Leipzig to record shutout win (+210)
