The World Cup knockout stage continues on Monday, June 29, with three Round of 32 fixtures and no margin for error. The group-stage safety net is gone, so every matchup now comes with a straightforward dynamic: win or go home.
The slate opens with Japan vs Brazil at 1:00 pm ET in Houston. Paraguay vs Germany follows at 4:30 pm ET in Boston, before Morocco vs Netherlands closes out the day at 9:00 pm ET in Monterrey.
I ran all three games through our proprietary A.I. prediction model to identify the computer’s preferred bet for each matchup. The table below summarizes those picks alongside the best-available prices, followed by the reasoning behind each wager so readers can evaluate the model’s logic for themselves.
World Cup Picks Today – A.I. Best Bets for June 29
The model is backing two favorites to win in 90 minutes plus the over in what it perceives as a mismatch between Germany and Paraguay. The model has been in love with favorites all tournament long, but that approach has worked out extremely well for it (and any bettors who tailed the picks). The mode has 41-31 win-loss record on its World Cup Picks and is up +4.84 units on one-unit wagers.
Below, I have set out the A.I.’s justification for each pick in chronological order (i.e. the same order as the table).
Japan vs Brazil Computer Pick: Brazil Moneyline (58¢ at Kalshi)
A.I. Justification: “The South American giants have looked virtually impenetrable during this tournament, and backing the Brazil Moneyline is the most reliable play on the board. Through their first three matches, Brazil have surrendered just a single goal while finding the back of the net seven times. Vinicius Jr has already tallied four goals and an assist, while Matheus Cunha has added three goals of his own.
Japan arrives with a solid underlying foundation, but the absence of Takefusa Kubo entirely alters their offensive ceiling. Against a Brazilian side that controls the tempo with a 55% average possession rate, Japan will struggle to run its fast-break transition offense. Brazil should dominate the penalty area and limit high-danger chances. Take the 58¢ price at Kalshi, which offers far better implied probability than traditional sportsbooks.”
Paraguay vs Germany Computer Pick: Over 2.5 Goals (57¢ at Kalshi)
A.I. Justification: “This fixture presents the most glaring statistical mismatch of the Round of 32. Because the Germany moneyline requires laying a steep price, the model pivots to the Over 2.5 goals market at 57¢. The German attack has been a relentless machine, pouring in 10 goals across three matches behind the clinical finishing of Deniz Undav and Kai Havertz.
Germany suffocates opponents with an aggressive press and has controlled matches with a 60.33% average possession rate. Paraguay survived its group despite a negative goal differential, scoring just two goals while conceding four. If Germany monopolizes the ball and forces Paraguay to chase the game, this matchup has a clear path to clearing the 2.5-goal threshold.”
Morocco vs Netherlands Computer Pick: Netherlands Moneyline (46¢ at Kalshi)
A.I. Justification: “For those looking for plus-money value without taking on unreasonable risk, the Netherlands Moneyline is the sharpest angle of the slate. The Dutch have been an offensive juggernaut, matching Germany’s tournament-leading pace with 10 goals scored and a robust +6 goal difference. They are built to break down organized defenses, holding 61% of the ball.
This roster features a balanced, multi-pronged attack led by Brian Brobbey and Cody Gakpo, combining chance creation with clinical finishing in the box. Morocco enters the knockouts with a +3 goal differential, having scored six times while conceding three. However, the Netherlands’ sheer volume of high-quality chances should wear down the Moroccan backline. Backing the Dutch to win in regulation at 46¢ offers excellent value.”
