The quarterfinals on men’s tennis at the Olympics will get underway on Thursday, July 29th, with times still TBD. In what will most likely be one of the more competitive quarterfinal matches of the day, Khachanov and Humbert go head-to-head for the first time in their careers.

Humbert is coming off an impressive upset over Stefanos Tsitsipas, where he came back to win after losing the first set. And Khachanov sent home Diego Schwartzman on route the this quarterfinal match.

These two player have a very similar style of play, and neither has had an over impressive year so far. This match is sure to be an exciting one. But take a look below for the odds, and a breakdown of how each player earned their spot in the final eight at the Olympics.

Khachanov Looking for his Maiden Olympic Medal

The 25-year old earned a spot in the quarterfinals at the Olympics after he defeated Schwartzman 6-1, 2-6, 6-1.

The Russian hasn’t had his most impressive year. Heading into the Olympic Games he had a 12-15 record on the year, and unfortunately hasn’t been able to be too consistent. He was able to have a few strong showings prior to the Games, which included that quarterfinal match against Denis Shapovalov at Wimbledon.

Khachanov really hasn’t truly been challenged in Tokyo just yet. He started his tournament off by defeating Yoshihito Nishioka, coming back after dropping the first set. And then recorded a win against James Duckworth before defeating Schwartzman. The Russian will be looking to move onto the semifinals in hopes of securing his first Olympic medal, but he’ll had a tough opponent in Humbert.

Humbert Defeats Tsitsipas

The 23-year old will be entering the quarterfinals coming off a big win over third seed Tsitsipas. He dropped the first set, but came back to win 2-6, 7-6(4), 6-2, and end the Greek’s run at the Olympics.

It looked like the higher seed was struggling with some sort of injury early in the match, as he took a medical timeout, but continued to play, and Humbert was able to take advantage of Tsitsipas maybe not being at 100 percent.

Like his quarterfinal opponent, Humbert hasn’t had a breakthrough or really impressive season. He actually entered the Olympics with a 15-14 record, but managed to pick up a title during the grass court season. He was able to gain some momentum during the grass season, which he did have an impressive run, but if it wasn’t for that, he would of had a losing record heading into The Games.

Tsitsipas was his first big test of the tournament, having sent home Pablo Andujar and Miomir Kecmanovic home in the earlier rounds. He’ll hope to continue his momentum into the quarters and beyond, as the draw for men’s singles has opened up a little bit.

Head-to-Head

We don’t have a previous match to go off of between these two players, so their current head-to-head is sitting at 0-0. But it’ll be interesting because these two have a pretty similar style of play.

Best Bet

With very similar playing styles, this will be a tough match to predict. Both Khachanov and Humbert are in alright form. Neither has had a breakthrough or extremely impressive year, but go up against each other evenly.

Where I do think there will be some difference is Khachanov comes across a bit stronger than Humbert. His serves and groundstrokes can overpower his opponents. So if he is able to dictate pace and the games from the baseline, it could be trouble for Humbert.

On the other hand, on top of having strong groundstrokes and a solid serve as well, Humbert likes to add a bit more variety into his game, which is where the two can differ. If he can capture some points at the net, that could also be the difference in the match.

Best Bet: Humbert 2-1 (+295)
