Belinda Bencic vs Daria Saville Prediction

This will be the fourth meeting between these two players, but the two haven’t played each other since 2015. Saville does hold the head-to-head edge at 2-1, but the fact that they haven’t played each other in seven year, makes it a little less of an edge heading into this match.

Bencic entered the tournament on a losing streak, and was unable to make it past the Round of 64 in her two previous tournaments. Heading into Miami, she was looking to leave that in the past. That’s exactly what she’s done, as she’s now on a three-game winning streak, defeating all her opponents in straight sets in the sunshine state.

Saville, on the other hand, is just the fourth wildcard in tournament history to make it to the quarterfinals. The 28-year old is currently ranked No. 249, but nearly seven weeks ago, she was No. 627.

As a wildcard, the Australian has played a few more matches than Bencic has this tournament. Could fatigue play into this match? Either way, it looks like Bencic has somewhat found her feet at the tournament, and is bringing back the form that she’s been able to beat some of the best players with. Saville will put up a fight, it won’t be an easy match. But look for Bencic to book her spot in the semifinals.

Best Bet: Bencic 2-0 (-120)

Naomi Osaka vs Danielle Collins Prediction

Former World No. 1, and unseeded here in Miami, Osaka, will take on 2022 Australian Open finalist for the third time in her career tonight. The 24-year old holds the head-to-head edge with a 2-0 lead over Collins. But the two last played in 2019.

This is an interesting matchup, that almost seems like it could go either way. Yes, Osaka holds a 2-0 lead over the American, but it’s worth noting that in 2018-19, Osaka was the best. She was at the top of her game, and barely anyone was winning against her.

Since then, Collins has really stepped up her game, and is arguably playing some of her best tennis.

But at the same time, Osaka is looking a bit like her old self these days. The Japanese star has defeated all her opponents quite easily in Miami, not giving them more space to try and fight back.

Regardless of the winner here, expect the match to go the distance as these two will fight until the end.

Best Bet: Over 2.5 sets (+114)

Paula Badosa vs Jessica Pegula Prediction

This will actually be the first meeting between these two.

Bodosa has had a heck of a 2022 so far. She’s captured a title at the Sydney International, and headed into Miami, coming off a semifinal appearance at Indian Wells. Pegula, on the other hand, hasn’t quite found that success just yet. But has continued to stay apart of the conversation, with a few strong tournament showings.

On paper, this does look like Badosa’s match to lose. She should be the one booking a spot in the semifinals, but Pegula won’t go down easy.

This is unknown territory for both players, as this is their first quarterfinal appearance at the Miami Open. That definitely makes it a bit of an even playing field heading into the match.

It does seem like this match could go the distance, but look for Badosa to move on.

Best Bet: Badosa 2-1 (+250)
