The second week of the Miami Open is here, and the Round of 16 is all set and ready to play.

Indian Wells champion, Iga Swiatek is looking to join the exclusive Sunshine Double Club, as her dreams in Miami are still alive. She’s been the favorite since the start, and as of right now, only 10 men and women have done what Swiatek is looking to accomplish.

Aside from Swiatek, the other name that is making headlines down in Miami is 16-year old, Linda Fruhvirtova. It was just last year the teenager lost in the first round of qualifying. A year later, she’s onto the third round, as she’s ranked No. 279 in the world.

Danielle Collins vs Ons Jabeur Prediction

This is the third meeting between these two players, with their current head-to-head listed at 1-1. Collins took their first meeting back at the 2020 French Open, where the American won the Round of 16 match in three sets. But it was just last year, during the Round of 32 at Indian Wells where Jabeur defeated Collins in straight sets.

This will be an exciting match, as the two have completely different styles of play. Collins is powerful, she relies heavily on her strength, and has showcased it time and time again. Jabeur, on the other hand, is more of a player that provides variety, crafts a different shot as often as she can, and tries to keep her opponents on their toes.

Both players are coming off strong wins against their previous opponent, so they look to be in good form.

But this is Collins first tournament since February, whereas Jabeur has played two additional tournaments since the Dubai Tennis Championships, which includes a quarterfinal showing.

Best Bet: Ov 2.5 sets (+110)

Petra Kvitova vs Veronika Kudermetova Prediction

This is the third meeting between this pair, with their head-to-head record standing at 2-0, with Kvitova having the edge. Both of their previous meetings came in 2021, in both Madrid and Cincinnati. Kvitova won in three sets in Madrid, and straight sets in Cincinnati.

Kvitova has a bit of experience in Miami as a two-time quarterfinalist, whereas this is new territory for Kudermetova. But both women are coming off strong second round wins, where they defeated their opponents in straight sets.

On paper, it looks like Kvitova has the slight edge here. Yes, her serving hasn’t been up to par of what we’ve seen in the past, but she has gone on to break her opponents 11 times in her two matches. Kudermetova will most likely be her toughest opponent of the tournament to date, but look to Kvitova to move on.

Best Bet: Kvitova 2-0 (+190)

Paula Badosa vs Linda Fruhvirtova Prediction

All eyes have been on wildcard Fruhvirtova in Miami. The 16-year old is now the youngest player to make the Miami Open Round of 16 since 2004, when she won due to a walkover against Victoria Azarenka. But the teenager had defeated 20th seed Elise Mertens in the Round of 64 before that.

Fifth seed Badosa has had a smooth couple of match, defeating both her opponents in straight sets. But the 24-year old has her work cut out for her with her match up again Fruhvirtova.

Without question, Badosa is the favorite here. Because of ranking and experience, this all makes sense. But that’s pressure. And with Fruhvirtova just riding a high, and essentially just happy to be here, it’s possible she rises to the occasion.

Both of these players are tough, aggressive, and forces to be reckoned with. This should be a great matchup. But we’re going to go all in here, and say that Fruhvirtova might be able to go three for three with her upsets.

Best Bet: +500
