One team will emerge with their lone win of the preseason when the Jacksonville Jaguars visit the Dallas Cowboys at 1 pm ET Sunday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The Jaguars are 0-2 under first-year coach Urban Meyer but are favored Sunday. Because they also played in the Hall of Fame Game, the Cowboys are winless in three tries.
NFL Network will televise the game.

Lawrence’s Final Tune Up
After being named the starting quarterback earlier in the week, rookie Trevor Lawrence will begin the game Sunday for the Jaguars
The No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft has not been overly sharp in Jacksonville’s first two games. Lawrence has completed 20 of 32 passes for 184 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.
He has showed he can run a little.

Lawrence has yet to lead the Jaguars on a touchdown drive. In fact, they have scored just three points through the first three quarters of their two games.
However, the Jaguars have 31 fourth-quarter points thanks in large part to CJ Beathard, who moved up to No. 2 on the depth chart Saturday when Gardner Minshew was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Beathard is 22 of 30 for 223 yards and three TDs without a pick or sack. He also started 12 regular-season games during three seasons with the San Francisco 49ers before signing with the Jaguars as a free agent in the offseason.
Highest-graded QBs thru Week 2:
1️⃣ C.J. Beathard – 95.1
2️⃣ Mac Jones – 92.4
3️⃣ Jameis Winston – 92.3
4️⃣ Zach Wilson – 85.7
5️⃣ Cam Newton – 83.4
5️⃣ Teddy Bridgewater – 83.4 pic.twitter.com/W5qhnUZhfV— PFF (@PFF) August 25, 2021
Minshew’s departure likely means Jake Luton will make the team. Luton figures to get more action this week than in the first two games when he was 8 of 13 for 53 yards with one touchdown and no INTs.
Rush Expected to Start
Cowboys starting quarterback Dak Prescott has not played in the preseason and will also sit out the exhibition finale. Dallas wants to keep Prescott healthy for the regular season after he sustained a season-ankle injury in Week 5 last year.
Garrett Gilbert appeared to be the clear-cut QB2 coming into training camp, but Cooper Rush has at least pulled even. Rush took most of the snaps with the first team during practice this week and that means he will likely start Sunday.
Rush has completed 25 of 38 attempts for 256 yards and two touchdowns without being intercepted. Gilbert is 19 of 34 for 214 yards with no TDs or picks.

Ben DiNucci gets one last chance to show he can be the third-string quarterback, but the odds seemed stacked against him as he has four INTs and four sacks.
DiNucci’s preseason has been reminiscent of his lone career start last season as a rookie in a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football. He was sacked four times, lost two fumbles. and hit on just 21 of his 40 passes.
Somebody’s Gotta Win
The Jaguars are going to take this game more seriously than the Cowboys as Meyer plans to play his regulars for at least part of the first half. Dallas coach Mike McCarthy, meanwhile, has seen enough of his starters with the luxury of the extra preseason game.
It would also be wise not to underestimate how much Meyer wants to win this game to help establish a new culture. Including the preseason, the Jaguars have lost 17 games in a row since beating the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1 last season.
Urb certainly doesn’t want average.
Urban Meyer on being Average 🎯
"We don't want to coach average, I don't want to be around you. Why be around average."
"Did you push yourself to be be great today, did you do it. If you didn't do it, you lost today. We don't have many days to lose." pic.twitter.com/KVuZ5Zk2Cb

Beathard also gives the Jaguars the edge in a battle of backups as he is better than any of the three quarterbacks the Cowboys will use. Heck, if there an NFL Preseason MVP, he might be the guy.
The Pick: Jaguars -3.5 (-110)
