Alcaraz’s First ATP 500 Final
The 18-year old Spaniard had to complete double duty on Saturday due to rainouts. To reach his first ATP 500 final, he fended off Matteo Berrettini in the quarters and Fabio Fognini in the semi’s.
It took three sets for Alcaraz to defeat Berrettini, but he managed to do it, winning 6-2, 2-6, 6-2. Later in the day, in his semifinal match, he defeated Fognini 6-2, 7-5.
18years old Carlos Alcaraz is into the biggest final of his career in Rio de Janeiro, the tournament where he won his first ATP match 2 years ago.

In the semifinal match, Alcaraz won the first set with ease, but found himself down 1-4 at the start of the second set. He managed to fight back, and go on a few runs to secure the win in straight sets.
The Spaniard managed to land 67 percent of his first serves, and of those landed first serves, record a 67 win percentage. He didn’t record any aces, which is not unusual. He doesn’t have an overbearing serve. This tournament he’s only recorded one or two per match.
He’ll now look towards Schwartzman, who will be another tough opponent for the 18-year old.
Schwartzman’s Second ATP Tour Final in Two Weeks
The Argentine player spent a total of five-and-a-half hours on the court on Saturday, as he was another player that fell victim to the Friday rain delays.
Prior to his two matches yesterday, his one and only match of the tournament was played on Wednesday, giving Schwartzman two full days off in between.
He went on to defeat Pablo Andujar 7(7)-6(3), 4-6, 6-4, in the quarterfinals, and Francisco Cerundolo 7(7)-6(4), 6-3.
After a marathon quarterfinal win, he managed to keep his semifinal match to just two-hours. But he saved the match from going longer when he saved three set points in the opening set there.
He’ll now go up against Alcaraz, who despite the seeding, is the favorite over Schwartzman to win.

Best Bet
This has all the makings for an exciting final.
Schwartzman has some great appearances this year already, but the Spanish teenager has shown how successful he can be on clay courts.
Both players will probably show signs of fatigue at one time or another in the match, especially if it starts to show signs of going the distance. But playing in front of a home crowd in Rio, is sure to give Alcaraz the boost he needs.
Given the week he’s had, upsetting a couple top players, playing front of the home crown, and his fondness of clay, Alcaraz looks to have the slight edge here.
But instead of taking Alcaraz to just win outright with a -300 moneyline, look to take the bet for Alcaraz winning in straight sets at -130.
