The Mavericks hope a change of venue will change their fortunes in the Western Conference finals when they host the Golden State Warriors in Game 3 at 9 p.m. ET Sunday at American Airlines Center.

The Warriors won the first two games of the best-of-seven series at home, including notching a 126-117 victory in Game 2 on Friday night. Golden State (63-32/24-22 road) has won 15 of their last 18 games, dating to the regular season.

Despite advancing this far in the playoffs for the first time since 2011, the Mavericks (60-37/34-13 home) have lost five of their past nine games.

The Warriors fell behind by 19 points in the first half in Game 2 and still trailed 72-58 at halftime. They cut the gap to 85-83 by the end of the third quarter then went ahead for the first time on Otto Porter’s three-point field goal 18 seconds into the final period.

Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 32 points, eight rebounds and five assists. He connected on 6 of 10 three-point field goals.

Jordan Poole scored 23 points and dished five assists off the bench.

The Warriors shot 56.1% (46 of 82) while connecting on half of their 28 attempts from distance.

Kevon Looney was a difference maker with his second career double-double as he finished with 21 points on 10-of-14 shooting and 12 rebounds. He became the first Warriors center to have at least 20 points and 10 rebounds in a postseason game since Robert Parish in 1977.

Looney, who was 5 for 5 from the field in Game 1, helped the Warriors outscore the Mavericks 62-30 in the paint and hold a 43-30 rebounding advantage. The Warriors have outrebounded the Mavericks by an average of 14.5 boards a game in the series.

Andrew Wiggins contributed 16 points, five rebounds and five assists, Klay Thompson had 15 points and five assists and Porter added 11 points, seven rebounds and four assists in a reserve role.

The Warriors won despite a limited contribution from Draymond Green. He had just six points and was a minus-19 before fouling out.

Andre Iguodala missed his ninth straight game with a disc problem in his neck and has been ruled out Sunday.

Dallas Mavericks Betting Outlook

Doncic also had eight assists, five rebounds and three steals while shooting 5 of 10 from three-point range. He had 18 points in the first quarter, nearly matching his total of 20 points in Game 1.

Jalen Brunson also had a big game as he knocked down five of seven threes on his way to 31 points. He added seven rebounds and five assists.

Reggie Bullock finished with 21 points on 6-of-10 shooting from beyond the arc. Dorian Finney-Smith had 10 points and eight points.

Dwight Powell was a non-factor inside as he logged just eight minutes while failing to score and pulling down two rebounds.

The Mavericks shot 46.7% (21 of 45) on threes but were just 2 of 13 in the third quarter when the Warriors began making their move. Dallas allowed Golden State to shoot 61% in the second half and 79% in the fourth quarter.

The Warriors’ comeback in Game 2 was impressive but it is hard to imagine the Mavericks rolling over in this series, especially after taking out the top-seeded Phoenix Suns in the previous round. Look for Dallas to bounce back in front of its home crowd.
