  • Watkins Glen is next on the NASCAR schedule as the Go Bowling at The Glen is set to run on Sunday, August 21st, 2022
  • Several contenders include Chase Elliott, Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Larson, and maybe Harvick again
  • Below are the Go Bowling at The Glen betting trends and odds ahead of Sunday afternoon’s race

NASCAR heads up to upstate New York for race number 25 of the 2022 season. The Watkins Glen, New York, road course is one of the more iconic road tracks. The course lists Chase Elliott as the favorite in the Go Bowling at The Glen odds. Can Martin Truex Jr. or Ryan Blaney finally win a race in 2022?

This is a week after the Federated Auto Parts 400, where Kevin Harvick held off the field once again. That gave Harvick his second win in a row. Talk about what a time to get hot!

Here are the Go Bowling at The Glen odds.

NASCAR drivers will run on the 2.454-mile, 11 turn course when the flag drops for the Sunday-afternoon race beginning around 3:00 pm ET on USA Network.

Chase Elliott Is the Road King But…

So, Chase Elliott has won six of the last 16 road races he has entered. That includes 11 top-five results and 12 top-tens. The Hendrick Motorsports Racing driver has not won a road race with the Next-Gen car however. He has come close a few times but no victories. Last year, Elliott followed up his 2019 victory with a second place results on the Watkins Glen course. Elliott likely had the fastest car at the end but issues early put him too far behind to end up in victory lane.

Now, Elliott also stands as top choice at Caesars (+500). Kyle Larson is listed at Caesars at +700 while Tyler Reddick screams in at +600. Some other Caesars Sportsbook odds feature future boosts such as Hamlin at +1600 and Kyle Larson at +1000.

Does Hendrick, Chevy, or Ford win here at Watkins Glen? Chase Elliott has three straight top-two finishes but drivers like Tyler Reddick (twice), Ross Chastain, and Daniel Suarez have won the past four road races.

The Ryan Blaney / Martin Truex Jr. “Battle”

Sports bettors are not so hot on Ryan Blaney (+1400) or Martin Truex Jr. (+2000) this week. The Ford driver is still dropping some in the NASCAR Cup Series odds. Blaney has a top five in his past two races at Watkins Glen but like this season, no wins. Truex Jr. has a second and a third but also zero victories.

At Team Penske, they have faith in Blaney. Here at Sports Betting Dime, there is a bit more on the older driver from New Jersey (Truex Jr.).

Go Bowling at The Glen Predictions & Picks

The weather should be good on Sunday. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 80’s with sunshine and only a slight chance of a storm. Keep an eye on it.

Next-Gen racing has taught some valuable lessons so wait on props until practice and qualifying take place.

Finally, for top-three picks, watch for guys like Tyler Reddick and Ross Chastain. Chastain may come from the back to pull off a win. There will be some more picks closer to Sunday’s race after qualifying on Saturday.

Here are our best bets:

  • Top Pick: Ross Chastain to Win (+1000)
  • Other Contenders: Chase Elliott (+500), Martin Truex Jr. (+2000), A.J. Allmendinger (+1400), Kevin Harvick (+2500)
