  • Richmond is next on the NASCAR schedule as the Federated Auto Parts 400 is set to run on Sunday, August 14th, 2022
  • Several contenders include Martin Truex Jr., Denny Hamlin, and Ryan Blaney
  • Below are the Federated Auto Parts 400 betting trends and odds ahead of Sunday afternoon’s race

NASCAR heads back East to Richmond Raceway, in Richmond, Virginia for race number 24 of the 2022 season. The 0.75-mile D-shaped track could have a high correlation to the Spring race. The course has Martin Truex Jr. as the favorite in the Federated Auto Parts 400 odds. Can Martin Truex Jr. finally win a race like how Kevin Harvick won last week at Michigan?

This is a week after the FireKeepers Casino 400, where Kevin Harvick held off a hard-charging Bubba Wallace and Denny Hamlin. That gave Harvick his first win of 2022, snapping a 65-race drought.

Here are the Federated Auto Parts 400 odds.

NASCAR drivers will run on the 0.75-mile course when the flag drops for the Sunday-afternoon race beginning around 3:00 pm ET on USA Network.

Martin Truex Jr. Is the Favorite This Week

Between Martin Truex Jr. and Kyle Busch, they are the only drivers who have placed in the top ten over the past six races at Richmond Raceway. The oddest thing is that the younger Busch has only one top-five result in that span despite that top-ten run. Toyota has been very dominant on this track much like Ford the week before. Behind Martin Truex Jr’s three wins and 2.3 average finish since 2019, he is not surprisingly topping the charts heading into Sunday.

Now, Truex Jr. stands as top choice at Caesars (+550). Denny Hamlin is listed at Caesars at +700 along with Kyle Busch and Christopher Bell. Some other interesting odds exist on Caesars Sportsbook, as Kevin Harvick is +1500 and Aric Almirola is +4000 (+5000 at Barstool).

Does Toyota finish off the deal here at Richmond? After all, they have won five of the past seven races. Austin Cindric is worth a long shot at +7500. Almirola has already been mentioned too.

This race is 400 laps (300 miles) once again.

Can Ryan Blaney Break Through?

Sports bettors are not so hot on Ryan Blaney (+1300) this week. The Ford driver is falling some in the NASCAR Cup Series odds. There is this interesting wrinkle that Blaney led 128 laps during the Spring race but came up short settling for seventh.

Blaney (+1200) has been in the top two or three just about all season when it comes to points but has zero wins. Again, his overall body of work at Richmond has not been great but the last three races have been much better (all 11th or better).

Federated Auto Parts 400 Predictions & Picks

The weather should be excellent on Sunday. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 80’s with plenty of sunshine.

This track has the look of a Toyota dominated race but do watch for Kyle Larson. He has won here before and can post some fast laps. See last year’s pole as well. He could be worth a pole prop.

Stage setup is 80-155-165 this week.

Finally, for top-ten picks, there are Erik Jones and Aric Almirola. There will be some more picks closer to Sunday’s race after qualifying on Saturday.

Here are our best bets:

  • Top Pick: Martin Truex Jr. to Win (+600)
  • Other Contenders: Ryan Blaney (+1200), Kyle Larson (+1000), Christopher Bell (+850)
  • More shots:  Erik Jones (+6600), Aric Almirola (+5000), Chase Briscoe (+5000)
