  • Michigan is next on the NASCAR schedule as the FireKeepers Casino 400 is set to run on Sunday, August 7th, 2022
  • Several contenders include Kevin Harvick, Tyler Reddick,  and Kyle Larson
  • Below are the FireKeepers Casino 400 betting trends and odds ahead of Sunday afternoon’s race

NASCAR heads up north to the Michigan International Speedway, in Brooklyn, Michigan for race number 23 of the 2022 season. The race comes from Michigan International Speedway. The 2.0-mile moderately-banked oval could be quite a challenge this year. The course has Kyle Busch as a favorite in the FireKeepers Casino 400 odds. Can he overcome his funk over the last seven races (no top tens) or will a win come from the Hendricks or maybe a surprise?

This is a week after the Verizon 200 at the Brickyard, where Tyler Reddick held off Austin Cindric and a few of the young guns as Reddick won the battle of attrition for the over 7-10 laps. That gave Reddick his second win of 2022.

Anyway, let’s plunge into the FireKeepers Casino 400 odds and figure out which racers are the top picks.

NASCAR drivers will run on the 2.0-mile course when the flag drops for the Sunday-afternoon race beginning around 3:00 pm ET on USA Network.

How Is Kyle Busch the Favorite This Week?

Between Martin Truex Jr. and Kyle Busch, they are the only drivers who have placed in the top ten over the past five races at Michigan International Speedway. The crazy thing is that the younger Busch has not won once in that span despite three top-five results. Toyota has run rather well but the dominant car has been the Ford with its setup. Despite that and the Joe Gibbs issues from a couple weeks ago, Kyle Busch is topping the odds list so far this week.

Now, Busch stands as top choice at Caesars (+550). Kyle Larson is listed at Caesars at +600. Some interesting odds exist on Caesars Sportsbook, as even Denny Hamlin is +700. Tyler Reddick, despite winning last week is at +1000.

Does Michigan feature another Ford win or does Toyota or Hendricks manage to break through? Austin Cindric is worth a long shot at +6000. He has run well of late. Maybe this is Ryan Blaney’s week at +1300 (+1200 on Caesars).

Can Ford Do It One More Time?

Sports bettors do not like drivers like Kevin Harvick (+2500) and Ryan Blaney (+1300) quite as much this week. The Ford drivers are dropping again in the NASCAR Cup Series odds. Between the two racers, they have won the last four later races on the two-mile Michigan track.

If there was a time for either Harvick or Blaney, it is now. Both have zero wins on the season and though Harvick needs the win more, Blaney arguably has the better team and car.

FireKeepers Casino 400 Predictions & Picks

The weather could be unsettled on Sunday. Temperatures will be near 90 with a chance of afternoon thunderstorms.

The Michigan course combined with the Next-Gen car should increase the cautions once more. Watch Tyler Reddick and his #8 Chevy. He did win last week and arguably saved us from ourselves here.

Finally, for top-ten picks, there are Erik Jones and Austin Cindric. There will be some more picks closer to Sunday’s race after qualifying on Saturday.

Here are our best bets:

  • Top Pick: Kevin Harvick to Win (+2500)
  • Other Contenders: Ryan Blaney (+1300), Kyle Larson (+750), Martin Truex Jr. (+1400)
  • More shots:  Austin Cindric (+6600), Alex Bowman (+2500), Chase Briscoe (+5000)
