Whoever is tasked with typing out injury reports ahead of tonight’s Thursday Night Football matchup between the Saints (2-4, 1-1 away) and Cardinals (2-4, 0-3 home) deserves a raise.

That’s because the injury reports for both teams are a mile long and feature some of the biggest names on New Orleans’ and Arizona’s roster.

As we’ll discuss, those players’ injury statuses have already had a major impact in the Saints vs Cardinals betting splits, so keep reading for a full breakdown ahead of TNF.

New Orleans Saints Injury Report

For the second straight week New Orleans will go into battle without two of their top-three wideouts and their top corner. Michael Thomas (foot) and Jarvis Landry (ankle) will miss their fourth and third straight games respectively, while Marshon Lattimore (abdomen) will sit for a second consecutive week.

That’s bad news for Andy Dalton, who also popped up on the injury report this week with a back issue, but will continue to start in place of the injured Jameis Winston (back).

Dalton will be without his left guard Andrus Peat (chest), but will get stud rookie receiver Chris Olave back after a one-game absence due to a concussion. Olave has a team-high 389 receiving yards this season and two TDs, and is drawing plenty of interest in the Saints vs Cardinals player props.

New Orleans will also be without starting tight end Adam Trautman for this matchup, as he’s down with an ankle injury.

Arizona Cardinals Injury Report

Meanwhile, it’s a good news-bad news situation for the Cardinals on the injury front. The team will be without Marquise Brown for the foreseeable future due to a foot injury he suffered last week, while two of their starting o-linemen are down.

Left guard Justin Pugh is out with a knee injury, while center Rodney Hudson is suffering from the same fate.

On the bright side, Week 7 marks the return of DeAndre Hopkins. The star wideout was suspended for the first six games due to a positive test for a banned substance. His return comes just in the knick of time with Brown lost.

Arizona also has a chance to get healthy in the run game. Leading rusher James Conner sat out Week 6 with a rib issue, but he was back at practice this week and will be a game-time decision.

Defensively, the Cards will be without starting linebacker Dennis Gardeck (ankle), while strong safety Jalen Thompson (hamstring) is listed as questionable.

How Injuries Have Affected Saints vs Cardinals Betting Lines

The Cardinals opened up as 1.5-point favorites for tonight’s contest, but once all the prominent Saints were ruled out the line moved to -2.5.

For what it’s worth, Arizona has been putrid at home since midway through last season. They’ve dropped eight straight home games, which is the franchise’s longest drought since 1958. That didn’t go unnoticed by one of our experts, who’s rolling with New Orleans in the Saints vs Cardinals picks.

New Orleans’ injuries had a much larger impact in the over/under market, as most feel pretty pessimistic about the Saints ability to put up points. The total has dropped from 46 to 43.5, and the under is still drawing 60% of the handle at that new number.
