EMU vs Kent State Pick
Two teams finishing the regular season on good notes square off as both Eastern Michigan (6-4/3-3 MAC/4-1 road) and Kent State (4-6/3-3 MAC/3-1 home) have won two of their last three games.
Eastern Michigan notched a 34-28 win at Akron last week as Samson Evans rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries. He is fourth in the MAC with 855 rushing yards.
Austin Smith was 16-of-28 passing for 190 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. Dylan Drummond had five receptions for 90 yards.
Eastern Michigan secured its fifth bowl appearance in the last six years and just seventh overall.
Kent State went on the road last week and routed Bowling Green 40-6 behind four combined touchdowns by quarterback Collin Schlee, including three passing.

Schlee threw for 214 yards, completing 17 of 30 attempts while being intercepted once.
Marquez Cooper carried 19 times for 93 yards and is second in the MAC with 1,106 yards. Devontez Walker raised his conference-leading receiving TD total to 10 as he caught two scoring passes from Schlee as part of a five-reception, 86-yard game.
Kent State’s Dante Cephas is third in the conference in receiving yardage with 744 and Walker is fifth with 716. Cephas has 48 receptions and Walker 47.
Kent State has won two games in a row against Eastern Michigan and six of the last seven, including 27-23 in the last meeting in 2020 at home. However, the Eagles are playing well and set to potentially turn the tables on the Golden Flashes or at least tuck under the number.
Pick: Eastern Michigan +7.5 (-110)
Miami (Ohio) vs Northern Illinois Odds
Team | Moneyline | Spread | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Miami (Ohio) | +100 | +1.5 (-110) | Over 45.5 (-110) |
Northern Illinois | -120 | -1.5 (-110) | Under 45.5 (-110) |
Odds as of November 15th at Caesars Sportsbook.
Miami vs North Illinois Prediction
Miami (4-6/2-4 MAC/2-3 road) has lost three of its last four games, including falling to Ohio 37-21 at home last week.
Brett Gabbert had a fine game for the RedHawks as he was 20-of-26 passing for three touchdowns – all to Mac Hippenhammer. However, Gabbert was shaken up on the last play of the game and is questionable for Wednesday.
Gabbert has been limited to just four games this season because of injuries.
Hippenhammer finished with eight receptions for 107 yards. He has 41 catches this season for 551 yards and seven scores.
Northern Illinois (3-7/2-4 MAC/1-3 home) beat Western Michigan 24-21 on the road following consecutive losses. The Huskies won with quarterback Nevin Cremascoli and Jaiden Credle, both true freshmen, making their first collegiate starts.
With running backs Harrison Waylee and Antario Brown sidelined by injuries, Credle was a workhorse with 36 carries for 136 yards and a touchdown. Waylee (863) and Brown (592) have combined for 1,455 yards on the ground this season and are questionable for this game.

Cremascoli struggled as he was intercepted three times and went just 8 of 17. However, he was able to lead the Huskies to victory with 133 yards and one TD.
Running QB Justin Lynch scored the game-winning touchdown on a 9-yard scamper with 56 seconds remaining. The brother of former NIU quarterback and 2013 Heisman Trophy finalist Justin Lynch finished with 83 yards rushing in six attempts.
Miami has beaten Northern Illinois in each of the last two meetings, but they last played in 2019 when the RedHawks notched a 27-24 victory at home. However, NIU is salvaging something from a disappointing season and should get a win here.
Pick: Northern Illinois -1.5 (-110)
Western Michigan vs Central Michigan Odds
Team | Moneyline | Spread | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Western Michigan | +335 | +11 (-110) | Over 49.5 (-110) |
Central Michigan | -440 | -11 (-110) | Under 49.5 (-110) |

Western Michigan vs Central Michigan Best Bet
Western Michigan (3-7/2-4 MAC/2-3 road) is stumbling to the season’s finish line as its loss to Northern Illinois was it’s fourth in the last five games.
True freshman quarterback Treyson Bourguet completed 15 of 30 passes for 186 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for a score. Corey Crooms had seven receptions for 105 yards and Sean Tyler ran for 97 yards and a TD on 18 carries.
Crooms is fourth in the conference with 725 receiving yards and Tyler is fifth in rushing with 719 yards.
Defensive end Andre Carter was ejected in the fourth quarter for his second unsportsmanlike conduct penalty of the game when he spiked the ball following an interception.
Central Michigan (4-6/3-3 MAC/2-3 home) knocked off visiting Buffalo 31-27 for its second straight win as backup quarterback Bert Emanuel Jr. rushed for 293 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries in just the second game of his college career. The son of the former NFL wide receiver had scoring runs of 75 and 87 yards.

Starting QB Daniel Richardson threw just 14 times and completed seven for 95 yards.
Defensive lineman Thomas Incoom made 10 solo tackles.
Central Michigan ended a three-game losing streak against Western Michigan and beat the Broncos for just the second time in the last eight meetings with a 42-30 road victory last season. Richardson passed for 230 yards.
The Chippewas are playing well but expecting them to cover a double-digit spread is ambitious.
Pick: Western Michigan +11 (-110)
