Georgia (13-0) defeated LSU 50-30 on Saturday in the SEC Championship Game at Atlanta. Ohio State (11-1) had the week off after losing to Michigan 45-23 in its regular season finale.

Georgia, Bennett Roll into CFP
Stetson Bennett threw a season-high four touchdown passes to lead Georgia to victory over LSU. That came on the heels of the Bulldogs completing their first undefeated regular season since 1982.
The biggest play of the game came during the first quarter. Georgia’s Christopher Smith returned a blocked field goal 96 yards for a touchdown to open the scoring.

Bennett completed 23 of 29 passes for 274 yards. Tight end Brock Bowers had six receptions for 81 yards and one touchdown.
Kendall Milton rushed for 113 yards on eight carries. Kenny McIntosh had two rushing touchdowns.
It marked Georgia’s first SEC championship since 2017. The Bulldogs lost to Alabama in last season’s title game but bounced back to win the national title.
Ohio State Gets Second Chance
Ohio State led Michigan 20-17 at halftime but couldn’t hold on as the visiting Wolverines outscored the Buckeyes 28-3 in the second half. Donovan Edwards had touchdown runs of 75 and 85 yards in the fourth quarter for Michigan.

The loss dropped Ohio State to fifth in the CFP rankings. However, the Buckeyes moved up a notch after #4 USC was upset by Utah on Friday in the Pac-12 Championship Game.
Ohio State won its first 11 games of the season by at least 11 points. Its closest call came in the opener when it beat Notre Dame 21-10.
Quarterback C.J. Stroud has completed 66.2% of his 355 passes this season for 3,340 yards and 37 touchdowns with six interceptions.
Georgia vs Ohio State Injury Report
Georgia wide receiver Ladd McConkey and offensive tackle Warren McClendon both sat out the second half Saturday.
McConkey aggravated a knee injury that has been bothering him throughout the season. McClendon was diagnosed with a mild MCL sprain of his left knee.
Ranking second on the team in receiving, McConkey has 51 catches for 675 yards and five touchdowns.
Movement on the Line?
Despite Ohio State’s loss to Michigan, a case can be made that Georgia and the Buckeyes are as talented as any two teams in the country. The 6.5-point line seems a touch high, so look for it to get bet downward between now and New Year’s Eve.
