BetMGM Missouri was awarded a sports betting license by the Missouri Gaming Commission, confirming it as one of the Missouri sports betting apps that can launch on December 1, 2025.

So, while the answer to whether you can place a bet at BetMGM in Missouri is still no, that’s changing soon. Here are the main BetMGM Missouri details you need to know:

Is BetMGM Legal in Missouri?

Voters in the Show Me State narrowly approved an amendment to legalize Missouri online sports betting in the 2024 general election. BetMGM is not yet legal in Missouri, but it will be one of the first online sportsbooks available when sports wagering launches in Missouri on Dec. 1.

BetMGM is fully available in 18 states, as well as Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico. Legal BetMGM states include: Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and Mississippi also have the BetMGM app, but you must be on the premises of an in-person casino in order to use it.

• Moneyline: The moneyline bet is the simplest of all, as you’re simply picking the outcome of a game or match straight up. Will the Kansas City Chiefs win? If you think so, pick them on the moneyline. The odds associated with the moneyline will determine your payout. The favorite will have a minus (ex. -120, meaning you’ll need to bet $120 to win $100), while the underdog typically has a plus (ex. +120, meaning a $100 bet will win you $120).
• Spread betting: This is the bet most commonly referenced when someone asks for the game “line.” The Chiefs were a 1.5-point favorite against the Eagles in the Super Bowl, so the spread was 1.5. The favorite is listed as minus the number, while the underdog is plus the number. In order for the favorite to win, they need to cover the spread, or win by more than the number listed.
• Total (Over/Under): If the Kansas City Royals are playing the Minnesota Twins and the total is listed at 8.5, a bet on the Over wins if they combine to score nine or more runs, while the Under wins if they combine for eight or less.
• Parlays: A parlay is a combination of more than one bet, which all have to win in order for your wager to payout. You can parlay the results of multiple games or you can combine multiple bets from a single game to make a same-game parlay (SGP). Parlays make for a bigger payday, but are much harder to win.
• Props: A prop is a bet on a specific action or event happening within a game. For example, you can bet on Xavier Worthy’s receiving yards, or how many field goals Harrison Butker will make.
• Futures: All bets are on something happening in the future, technically, but a futures bet is made on an outcome bigger than a single game. You can place a futures bet on who will win the next Super Bowl, March Madness, or the College Football Playoff. Futures are also available for player awards.

My favorite in-app insight is the listed hit rate on player props.
