  • The St. Louis Cardinals have won 10 of their past 11 games, improving their odds to make the MLB Playoffs
  • Potential bettors in Missouri cannot bet on them yet as they await an official sports betting launch
  • Missouri sports betting apps will not be available until Dec. 1, 2025, after the MLB season concludes

The St. Louis Cardinals are one of the hottest teams in Major League Baseball right now. They’ve won 10 of their past 11 games, including a nine-game win streak, rocketing up the NL Central standings.

And unless they decided to drive to a neighboring state, sports bettors in Missouri weren’t able to wager on a single one of those games.

That will change, of course, when Missouri sports betting apps launch, although not in time to bet on this year’s Cardinals.

Sports betting in Missouri was legalized by voters in the 2024 election, but nobody can make a bet in the Show-Me State yet. That changes on Dec. 1, 2025, which was recently set as the official launch date for Missouri sports betting.

Will You Be Able to Bet on the 2025 MLB Playoffs in Missouri?

The December launch date ensures that bettors in Missouri will get to bet on the NFL this coming season, but it rules out any MLB betting in 2025.

MLB postseason games take place, almost exclusively, in October, so if you want to place a bet on the Cardinals, or the Kansas City Royals, in first few days Missouri sports betting is available, you’ll need to be placing futures bets on the 2026 season.

Betting on the Cardinals in Missouri

With their recent hot streak, the Cardinals improved to 24-20, good enough to be one game out of first in the NL Central, and one game back of the final NL Wild Card spot.

DraftKings listed the Cardinals odds at +220 to make the postseason on Thursday morning, and +400 to win the NL Central.

While DraftKings Missouri isn’t available yet to make those bets on the Cardinals, if it were, $100 bets on each would return you $320 and $500 (winnings + returned stake), respectively.

The Royals, meanwhile, have much better playoff odds at +100, as they currently sit in one of the three AL Wild Card slots. Their odds to win the AL Central at DraftKings are longer than the Cardinals’ division odds, coming in at +550, thanks to the league-leading Tigers.

Futures bets will be one of the many you’ll be able to place when Missouri sports betting goes live, although these ones will be off the board by then.

When the 2026 MLB season rolls around, you will be able to make run line, over/under, home run prop bets and many more.
