The 2025 College World Series continues on Sunday with two games, including the first elimination contest of this double-knockout tournament. That game is up first between Louisville and Arizona, but before we dive into that matchup, let’s go over my favorite pick for Sunday’s slate.

College World Series Picks for June 15

That would be scorching-hot Coastal Carolina over Oregon State at -140 odds. The Chanticleers have won 24 straight games, last losing on April 22nd. Coastal Carolina seemingly always has runners on base, and boasts the superior pitching staff. We’re also targeting the Cardinals in our favorite College World Series picks, as they should be able to feast on an underwhelming Wildcats staff.

College World Series Prediction #1: Coastal Carolina Moneyline

The Chanticleers don’t hit for power, but they boast elite OBP and base running stats. They enter play with a .410 on base percentage, averaging 15 base runners per contest. They’ve been successful on 79% of their stolen base attempts, and their clutch hitting is off the charts.

Jacob Morrison will take the ball for Coastal Carolina on Saturday, and he’s been money in the bank throughout the entire season. Morrison boasts an 11-0 record, and a tiny 2.15 ERA. He surrendered only a single run over 6 innings in the Super Regionals win over Auburn, marking the seventh time in his last eight outings he’s allowed 1 run or less.

There’s no question that Oregon State’s lineup is potent, but they’re also extremely strikeout prone. Look no further than their opening game against Louisville. Facing another elite pitcher in Patrick Forbes, the Beavers whiffed 10 times, and then twice more against Cardinals relievers. They mustered just 4 runs and one extra-base hit, but were bailed out by some impressive pitching of their own.

They’ll need a similar effort from Sunday’s starter Ethan Kleinschmit, who’s more than capable of delivering it. This game will likely be decided by the bullpens and that’s where the Chanticleers biggest advantage lies. Their relievers rank fifth nationally in ERA, and 18th in WHIP. They pitched 5 innings in their CWS opener, yielding only 3 hits.

Coastal Carolina boasts shorter College World Series odds than the Beavers, and I’m betting their incredible winning streak continues.

College World Series Prediction #2: Louisville Moneyline

As for the first game in the loser’s bracket, I’m backing Louisville due to their superior lineup. The Cardinals boast a tremendous amount of power and average over 9 runs per game. Seven players boast an OPS over .900, with five of them smacking 12+ home runs. This team is also a menace on the base path, racking up 155 steals so far.

Arizona’s lineup is a cut below, hitting 24 fewer home runs, and averaging 2 full runs less per contest. The starting pitching matchup is a wash, as neither team is trotting out a real innings eater. Both Tucker Biven and Raul Garayzar struggle to go deep into games, which means we’ll see plenty of relievers from both sides.

That tilts the scale even further of Louisville’s favor, as the Wildcats bullpen has a 5.48 xFIP over the past 11 games, and has surrendered 19 runs over their past four outings.

The Cardinals narrowly missed out on upsetting Oregon State on Day 1, and I’m betting they keep their College World Series dream alive by knocking off Arizona.
