One of the biggest games of the weekend comes from the ACC. Georgia Tech has a chance to upset #12 Clemson at home and move to 3-0 on the year.
On the other side, Clemson has not had the start to the year that they wanted. Clemson has won nine games in a row against Georgia Tech. Will they be able to get their season back on track against this talented and tough Georgia Tech team?
See below for the latest Clemson vs Georgia Tech odds, plus my picks and predictions for Saturday.
Clemson vs Georgia Tech Odds
The college football odds list Clemson as a short, 2.5-point favorite at Georgia Tech. This line has moved a lot due to Clemson’s disappointing start to the season. The spread opened at Clemson -7.5, then moved to -3.5 earlier this week, and now the Tigers are -2.5.
The O/U has also seen significant movement. The total opened at 58.5 and is now O/U 51.5.

Clemson Betting Trends
In the preseason, Clemson was one of the favorites in the CFB National Championship odds, but they have disappointed to start the season. They lost to LSU at home 17-10 in CFB Week 1, and while it was only a touchdown deficit, the game never felt in reach for Clemson. They followed up that poor performance by only beating Troy at home 27-16 and trailed for most of the game. Now they go on the road for their first away game against a talented Georgia Tech team.
Clemson is 0-2 against the spread, and the under has hit in both of their games.
Their offensive woes can mostly be attributed to their lack of a run game. Clemson averaged just 2.9 yards per carry against LSU in their opener, and they have had just one explosive run. With the run game struggling, Cade Klubnik did not look comfortable until late against Troy. We will see if that was enough to get the offense going. They were able to escape and win against Troy, and they should be motivated in their first ACC game.
One bright spot for Clemson has been their ability to force turnovers. They had two takeaways against LSU in Week 1, then had three interceptions against Troy. The Tigers have found success pressuring opposing quarterbacks, and teams have not been able to run the ball effectively against them.
Georgia Tech Betting Trends
Georgia Tech is 2-0 against the spread this season and is 4-0 against the spread in their last four games as a home underdog. Head Coach Brent Key has also been great against Top 25 teams. Since he became the coach, Georgia Tech is 9-3 ATS against the Top 25.
Haynes King played great against Colorado after an early interception. He ran for 156 yards and three touchdowns to beat the Buffaloes. He did not play against Gardner-Webb due to a lingering lower-body injury. It was a precautionary move, but it is worth noting heading into this game against Clemson. Jamal Haynes has also been great this season, and the run game will be a big part of Georgia Tech’s ability to win this game.
The Yellow Jackets’ defensive line has made things difficult for opposing teams to run the ball, so this game will a great battle of the trenches.
Clemson vs Georgia Tech Prediction
I feel like this is the game that Clemson gets back on the map. Everything points to Georgia Tech in this game, and I am high on their season-long outlook, but the Tigers need to have a strong outing if they want to re-enter National Championship consideration.
Georgia Tech has had issues with turnovers in their first two games, and Clemson has forced five turnovers this season. The Yellow Jackets will have a tougher time battling back from early turnovers against Clemson than they had against Colorado and Gardner-Webb. I also trust Clemson’s defense and their defensive line to limit Georgia Tech’s rushing attack.
Klubnik will need to have a great game, and he has a chance to take advantage of a weak Georgia Tech secondary. This bet does not feel great after watching Clemson these last couple of weeks, but they match up well against Georgia Tech, and this is the game where they turn it around.
