There are just three weeks left on the college football regular season calendar, and playoff spots will be on the line in Week 12. The actions kicks off Tuesday, but I’ve circled three best early bets to make on Saturday.
The #11 Texas vs #5 Georgia showdown highlights my Week 12 college football picks, as I’m looking to buy the Longhorns before the market adjusts.
Week 12 College Football Picks
The opening college football Week 12 odds pegged Texas as 6.5 point underdogs, and that’s way too good of a price to pass up. I’m also betting the Wisconsin vs #2 Indiana matchup to fall short of the total, and buying #19 USC to cover a touchdown versus #20 Iowa.

Texas vs Georgia Prediction
With two losses already on their resume, the Longhorns need this game to stay in the National Championship odds conversation. They have significant advantages over the Bulldogs that they can exploit, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they not only covered 6.5 points, but went in to Athens and won outright.
Let’s start on defense. Texas is top-three against the run, and ninth in yards per play allowed. They generate sacks at a top-10 clip, and force turnovers at an elite rate.
Offensively, they’ve found their groove. The Longhorns have put up 45 and 34 points in back-to-back games, while Arch Manning has looked like a future Sunday star. He’s throw for nearly 700 yards and 6 TD in his last two starts, while also chipping in a rushing score.
Georgia Defense Stats
Georgia meanwhile, can’t create havoc defensively. They rank 118th in takeaways and 128th in sack rate. The Bulldogs have yielded an average of 33.3 points per game to ranked opponents this season, and are just 2-4 against the spread in Athens.
Wisconsin vs Indiana Pick
On to the undefeated Hoosiers now, who I don’t expect to play their starters a full 60 minutes. Indiana has been resting their 1’s, including Heisman Trophy odds candidate Fernando Mendoza, once games get out of reach, and it won’t take long for them to bury the Badgers.
I could wax poetically about Indiana’s offense, but I’d rather focus on their defense and the anemic Wisconsin offense. The Hoosiers rank third in scoring defense, sixth in yards allowed, and seventh in yards per play allowed. They’re fifth in opponent third down conversion percentage, and top-12 in interception and sack rate.
The Badgers on the other hand, have scored 13 points or less in six straight games, and 10 points or fewer in five of those outings. They rank 134th in points and yards per game, as well as yards per play. They’re 119th in sustaining drives, and 109th in red zone scoring percentage.
The only thing keeping Wisconsin in games is their defense. They just held Washington’s potent attack to 10 points, and while I don’t expect them to shut down Indiana, they won’t let them get to 40 either. Given the total is 45, and I don’t expect much from the Badgers when they have the ball, this game is a clear under bet.
Iowa vs USC Best Bet
Sticking in the Big Ten, where I want to bet against Iowa travelling West. The Hawkeyes have faced a gauntlet of a schedule lately, and this is a clear let down spot after they had their hearts broken by #9 Oregon last week.
Iowa has done a masterful job of shutting down opposing offenses this season, but this Trojans unit is a different beast. USC is fourth in scoring, and first in total offense and yards per play. They’ve also been unstoppable at home in 2025, posting a 5-0 record, while averaging 49.2 points per outing. They’ve covered in four of those contests by an average of 10 points, and I expect another convincing win on Saturday.
