A major announcement on Wednesday revealed FanDuel and CME Group will be launching a prediction markets platform in December. FanDuel Predicts will launch as a standalone app in states where online sports betting is not currently available, and will provide access for eligible users to trade sports event contracts on several popular leagues.
FanDuel Predicts Launching December 2025
Set to arrive in December, the FanDuel Predicts app will offer event trading on football, basketball, hockey, and baseball. Additionally, the FanDuel Predicts platform will provide event trading on non-sports markets like oil and gas prices, the S&P 500, Nasdaq, gold, cryptocurrencies, and other economic indicators like GDP and CPI. Event contracts on the FanDuel Predicts platform will range in price from $0.01 to $0.99.
The FanDuel Predicts app will be launched in states where online sports betting is not available. As new states legalize online sportsbooks, FanDuel Predicts will stop offering sports event trading in those locations. Registration for the new prediction market will mirror other FanDuel products, as users will be required to provide their date of birth, home address, banking information, Social Security number, and a valid ID.
Prospective users can rest assured that they will be protected to trade responsibly on FanDuel Predicts. Within the app, users can access educational resources to learn about prediction markets and how to buy and sell event contracts. Traders will also have the ability to track spending and set deposit limits/alerts, as well as self-exclude, like on any other FanDuel platform.
“We can’t wait to bring FanDuel’s proven approach to product innovation into this dynamic sector,” said Amy Howe, CEO at FanDuel. “Our partnership with CME Group allows us to leverage their deep market expertise built over decades while delivering the seamless, accessible and trusted experience our customers expect.” CME Group Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Terry Duffy said, “Our new event contracts on benchmarks, economic indicators and now sports will appeal to a new generation of potential participants who are not active in these markets today.”
The major partnership will bring together FanDuel’s powerful brand name and mobile app technology, with CME Group’s unrivaled status in the financial markets industry, to provide a safe and trusted prediction market platform for users in a variety of states nationwide.
