We did it! We made it through Opening Day of baseball season. There are guys that will tell you that the excitement for baseball drops off drastically after Opening Day, but I disagree. In my opinion, it just gets better. Why? Because of dongs. There is just something about the opportunity to become filthy rich from guys hitting bombs that gets the blood pumping every single day of the week. In fact, I prefer that it NOT be Opening Day. It’s too hard to get a good list of guys on the first day of the season. We need a little data in our lives, and we just don’t have the best of it on the first day. Lucky for us, today is the second day of the season, so we’re heading in the right direction data-wise. And after one day, there are three guys on my radar to become Circle of Trust members. All they have to do is go deep tonight. Feels easy.

Friday HR Pick #1 – Christopher Morel to Hit a Home Run

I can already hear the haters now, “Slop, I didn’t even know Christopher Morel was even in the majors.” Well, he is. He’s playing for the Miami Marlins, and he’s still a “hit it out of the park” or a “walk of shame” guy. All he needs is the right pitcher to unlock his powers.

Lucky for us, Morel will be seeing Kyle Freeland tonight. There has never been a righter pitcher.

The thing with Morel and Freeland is, they have history. Not that we’re big “batter vs pitcher” people, but Morel owns this guy. He’s only seen 24 pitches from Freeland, but he’s got five hard-hit balls off of him. Two of those balls went home with a fan. All I’m saying is, Morel should not be +560 to hit a dong tonight. Friday HR Pick #2 – Yoan Moncada to Hit a Home Run

Now that we’ve got one certified banger in our pockets, it’s time to get loose. We don’t have to go crazy with the move since early in the season, everyone besides the superstars is priced to move. With all of that in mind, one name popped into my head, and I can’t get it out now. Yoan Moncada.

The fact that Moncada has a date with Mike “Tape Measure” Burrows tonight just seals the deal.

I’m not trying to be mean, but we know Burrows is giving up dongs tonight. It’s what he does. In his defense, he’ll sit a few guys down, but he’s definitely going to get rocked once or twice in the process. People think it’s going to be a righty as evidenced by all the Jo Adell, Mike Trout, and Zach Neto hype we’ve seen, but why not Moncada? He abuses curveballs from righties, and this is the exact spot where he might see more than one. When that happens, that ball could end up on the moon. Feels right.

Friday HR Pick #3 – Luke Raley to Hit a Home Run

Finally, we’re going after a guy who is already in the Circle of Trust. We’re talking about a guy who nearly paralyzed someone in the stands last night with an absolute piss-missile. He’s seeing the ball well and he’s facing another righty who likes to give it up. We’re talking Nuke Raley here, people.

There is no chance in hell Gavin Williams got a good night’s sleep last night knowing this matchup is coming.

Again, we’re not batter vs pitcher people, but we can’t ignore the power Nuke has over Gavin. It’s undeniable at this point. Nuke has only seen 15 pitches from Gavin in his life, but three of those pitches ended up going down as hard-hit balls. One of them even cleared a fence. I’m not saying that is the end-all, be-all; I’m just saying it happened. Above all else, Williams gave up a dinger in three of his last four Spring starts, so he’s not even ready. This could get ugly. Quick.
